Brilliant staff. Help with any question. Thank you!
Everything was great. Placement is good, 5 min. to downtown, 2 min. to ATM, 4 min. to bus station.
They closed the bar on the street and no longer prepare meals there except for breakfast. The charm and atmosphere has changed since closing the bar and restaurant.
Location, cleanliness, good wifi
The rooms were nice and clean, the staff helpfull and friendly. However, it is a bit overprized for their service.
There was a terribly noisy power unit/ or a big air-conditioning system. Whatever it was, it totally spoiled my night.
The reception staff was incredibly helpful, arranging a last minute booking with a local tourist shuttle for early the next morning, efficiently and cheaply. The breakfast was delicious and served very quickly as my shuttle was a little early and I could not wait long for serving.
My room on the third floor overlooked a building with large airconditioners on the roof, so there was a low thrum in the room, but as the windows did not open at all it was essential to run my own aircon, so other noise was hardly noticeable
Great location. Great service.
The staff was very helpful and really made an effort to accommodate. The location was convenient and quiet. The breakfast was very satisfying!
Location and the staff
Friendly staff, good location in terms of being in central la fortuna. Lovely views from the room.
There was a noisy bar nearby. No choice of breakfast. Slight smell in the room.
Large bed, very good breakfast, perfect location, large bathroom. Helpful staff.
Our room was close to lift and trash can/lift
The fastest wifi I found in Costa Rica: 14 MBit down. The huge bathroom. The desk. The cover on the bed. The big balcony. The silent air-con. The high toilet (I am tall). The super fast laundry service across the street.
The front desk people were so friendly and helpful! They humored us and allowed us to practice our Spanish although their English was so good. The A/C, WiFi, and hot water all worked well! The breakfast, included in the price, was delicious as well. Close to downtown.
There was really nothing that bothered us!
Manrique at the front desk could not have been friendlier. The hotel is fairly new and very clean, the room was fine, bed was fine. Breakfast was simple but good. No frig in the room but a small frig for each floor in the hallway.
My main problem was the noise from the street. I followed advice to get a volcano view room, which was on the 3rd floor, unfortunately the volcano was socked in with clouds and it rained most of the 2 days I was there. Monday night the traffic noise wasn't quite as bad, Sunday night it was really loud and went much later than expected. If you're looking for access to downtown La Fortuna it's easily within walking distance to anything downtown. To get out to the hot springs or the waterfall you need a cab.
Perfect location for walking to shops and cafes in town. Worth the extra money for the volcano view. Good breakfast. Super staff. Secure parking.
The upgrade to a great view of the volcano.
The room has a lack of clean equipment for personal use. The Wi-fi Internet service is available only at the first floor.
Very central location, close to many restaurants.
The hotel makes a little sterile appearance in this beautiful tropical surrounding, but that's only a minor thing. What I really didn't like was that I couldn't open the window (in a standard room).
The main selling point of this hotel is the location. Situated in the downtown of La Fortuna, it was good to be able to walk around, especially if you do not have a car. We discovered the town on foot and that was great. Otherwise the hotel is a budget standard, ok bed and shower pressure and towels. Clean and adequate and priced right. The breakfast is standard fruit plate and scrambled eggs - nothing special. It was a great hub for adventures. The front desk staff were very helpful and able to recommend things to do. If you book a tour be sure to tell the desk with your room number incase the tour comes to pick you up and you are not ready. Overall a good stay.
It's a budget hotel so don't expect high comfort. It's adequate. The wifi signal was not strong from the room so I spent a lot of time in the lobby area to connect.
Location convenient for restaurants and shops
Noisy b/c right on street-so to be expected
Functional, spacious and very clean room. Nice breakfast (fresh fruits and toast). Overall, good value for money.
Manrique, the desk clerk, was excellent: super friendly and helpful! If he continues to work there, I will return.
Extremely noisy, with some drilling sound going off at odd hours. The lady who checked me in was very off-handed, as if she were doing me a favour! Not the best service for an establishment like that.
Location, view from window
bed, pillows, no coffee in the room, the fact that you had to pay to use the safe.
The staff Daniella and Manrique were the best! Greeted me by name and helped get me oriented in Fortuna and surroundings. I found the Fortuna spotless, the staff so friendly and genuine. the facilities are utilitarian and not wasteful. I felt very comfortable, and safe. Amazing deal for a utilitarian hotel and welcoming staff!
Uncomfortable beds, no real amenities, our roof leaked after a rainstorm and we had to change rooms, no staff on duty at night until 6 am
