We went to namuwoki for a romantic birthday celebration for my husband. The staff looked after us so well- fresh flowers were artfully decorating the room at my request. There was a large storm and the power was out for a couple hours. The staff walked around in the rain delivering lights for each villa. The breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day as well as the late check out! Such an amazing stay.
bungalow very large
bad smell of dogs at reception, high umidity in the room, no A/C
We loved our experience at Namuwoki. It's a quaint and quiet family owned property with several bungalows in the midst of beautiful rainforest vegetation. At night, we could hear the sounds of the rainforest. The property was well maintained and clean, the service always friendly and helpful, the food at the onsite restaurant was delicious, the pool clean and refreshing. Bicycles are available for rent to explore the nearby beaches and Puerto Viejo town.
Mosquito netting over beds needs to have a bigger ceiling mount over the center of the bed in order to cover a larger surface area and create a comfortable space for 2 persons.
The best place in Puerto Viejo! Everything was perfect!
The staff is great, the place looks beautiful, the rooms are nice and clean
There is no air condition and the ceiling fan is very slow
good value for money breakfast included
bed not so comfortable 2 weeks before leaving they said me that the room i reserved was not anymore available so we had a smaller one Wi-fi is not in the room, just in some area
Amazing resort, we got a suit room (even if we book lower standard room) and there was nothing I could complain. Very big room, with very big and beautifull bathroom, jacuzi in the patio (private), all very clean and comfortable. Very tasty breakfast. Definitly worth to go and just enjoy the nature.
The only bad things in wifi as was not working perfectly inside the room, but outside in on common area was working perfectly.
Beautiful resort with lush green tropical vegetation and sparkling pool. Bungalow was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and indulged our need to experiment with Spanish. They did offer the same thing for breakfast every day, but the eggs were so rich we could not get enough of them. They are like farm fresh eggs with deep yellow to orange yolks. The restaurant food was pretty good, especially the seafood and the fried potatoes with the special sauces. The laid back atmosphere was very relaxing. There are several lounge areas to relax and play games. I spent a lot of time just sitting and painting watercolors in my journal. After returning from an active day on the beach or in the rainforest, it was refreshing to be able to float in the cold pool. I was concerned when we checked in that there was no air conditioning, but we discovered on the first night that it really isn't needed. We are from Texas and use our AC year round, so not having AC was unusual for us. However, the temperature falls at night and there is a good breeze through the screened windows, so we actually needed to use the blankets provided. The howler monkeys are loud and will wake you up if you are a light sleeper. But, I found them to be a nice reminder that I was on vacation and would just fall back to sleep. I drank the tap water and had no ill effects. The front desk staff was very helpful and booked a driver to take us wherever we wanted to go on our last day. I loved Namuwoki and wish we were back there right now!
WIFI was available sporadically and only near the front of the resort. I would suggest that the resort add additional WIFI capacity. The restaurant was great but it would be nice to have additional simpler items on the menu (sandwiches, mashed potatoes, hamburgers, chicken fingers, etc.) It would also be great to be able to order a packed lunch to take off site (again, sandwiches, etc.) but overall the restaurant was good. At breakfast the little yellow bees would swarm the table (they did not sting people) and concentrated in the jams and the orange juice. I suggest that the restaurant install screens around the dining area or use some kind of screen cover for these items. I would also suggest that the resort open an expanded gift shop with t-shirts, snacks, etc. A ceiling fan was needed in the loft area of our bungalow to help circulate the air as the one we had in the master bedroom was not sufficient to circulate the air through the entire bungalow. Overall the positives outweighed the negatives by a wide margin.
Located in a nice area close to restaurants, market and beach. The lodges are cosy, spacious, and surrounded in the lush green. It seems being in the middle of a jungle. So you are awaken by the sound of nature. Nice experience!
To get to the beach you need to cross the road, but it is a small one, so you are not disturbed by the road.
