My stay in Oxygen Jungle Villas was exquiste! Dariel, Victor and all the staff, even the gardeners, were super friendly and attentive. The place is super private and you can breath peace. The picture don't do justice to the beautiful villas. You can relax by the pool or hike to their private waterfall. You are also close enough to nice beaches and cool attractions like Bahia Ballena. Even the rocky road to the hotel was nice!! Breakfasts were the best :) Definitely coming back!!!

Loved the staff!!! They were exceptional. The villas and the view were breathtaking. Surprised that there were absolutely no insects in the villas since you are in the middle of many trees.

The ride up to the villas can be a little scary but part of the experience.

It was friendly, small enough to work well . The food was good, the rooms were clean. there was a new manager just starting and he could see what needed sorting out. We will go back to see if he has achieved what he has set out to do.

There are not enough loungers around the pool for the number of guests. The villas are fine but ours was not totally private-we don't like being overlooked.

The most beautiful hotel we've visited was definitely here. The staff (except the manager) was super friendly and helpful. Food was great but expensive. We recommend this place to everybody but 2 or 3 nights were enough for us.

We have to thank Victor, the barman, who made our stay so enjoyable. The view from the pool/restaurant is amazing. Great hotel for couples.

The manager, who had only been at the hotel for a couple of weeks didn't fit in the picture. He didn't seem professional at all, most often not greeting us in the morning (there were only a couple of guests. Is it too much to ask?) and just wandering around, giving us the impression that he was either a guest or the owner - which he obviously wasn't.

The villas were beautifully designed and the view of the pacific ocean was even better. The food was some of the best we had during our trip to Costa Rica. Right now there is only a small bar but they are converting the top floor to a big bar with a TV which I think will really improve the facility. The downstairs is just a bunch of tables for two, so it's romantic and all but it doesn't really promote having fun. I kinda wanted to party with the other guests but my husband and I weren't about to approach their tiny table for two and slam some shots down.

The bed was pretty stiff and not comfortable. The air conditioner took a while to figure out but that's probably just on me. The shower only got luke warm. There was not a single TV on the property, which I know is dumb to complain about but we really wanted to watch the football game.

To begin this review I would like to point out that my boyfriend and I had a fantastic time at Oxygen Jungle Villas. This review is an honest one – a review that I hope will ensure this boutique hotel is not only recognized for its beauty but also for its outstanding customer service – an important detail which I do feel needs to be improved. As a travel writer I have been lucky enough to visit some top destinations in Costa Rica – so I admit I do pay a lot of attention to detail – however, I honestly believe this is what really makes the difference when it comes to top accommodation. I don’t want this review to discourage people to visit – in fact I would highly recommend Oxygen Jungle Villas – but I would like to offer the following advice: Location Unfortunately, the hard to find – difficult to leave - slogan that is displayed on the Oxygen Jungle Villas website is truer than what I would have liked. This place is hard to find – and it really shouldn’t be! – whilst the O2 wooden signs are tasteful they blend into the tropical greenery to such an extent that you never really know whether you are heading the right way. Of course – you can use Waze (which gave us the wrong directions) or any other GPS system – but clearer signage on the way up to the hotel would be much more reassuring to guests – especially those that are not used to negotiating steep gravel roads. As a honeymoon/romantic destination – the drive up puts even the strongest relationship to the test – if you make it up here without squabbling – then you can pretty much make it through anything in life.

This place is absolutely beautiful, the food and the drinks were great and the treatment from the staff is equally amazing. You can feel in a mood of seclusion and will be able to enjoy a lovable time with your spouse/companion that will rarely share elsewhere

The villas are clean, simple and comfortable. Ours had an ocean view. You might be able to find a bigger room elsewhere in the area with more furniture and a less expensive clubhouse, but it probably won't have entirely glass walls with amazing views. The staff made us feel welcome, and they gave us great advice about exploring the area.

We originally got our directions from the booking.com site instead of directly from the hotel. Don't make the same mistake unless you want to get lost on 4wd roads in the swamp. Booking.com has the wrong gps coordinates and the wrong phone number. We luckily found someone near the swamp with internet access (and good beer) so we could get the correct phone number and call for better directions.
