Score from 139 reviews Very good
Offering an infinity pool and free WiFi, El Faro Beach Hotel is located in Manuel Antonio, about 8 minutes’ walk from the beachfront. This property is Costa Rica's only container hotel.
Score from 98 reviews Good
Featuring beautiful, spacious rooms with either Pacific Ocean views, or views of the gardens, Clandestino Beach Resort is on Palo Seco Beach. It features an outdoor swimming pool and restaurant.

Score from 33 reviews Excellent
The view was awesome. Nice grounds. Great view. Service is great.
The drinks are priced really high and they got my room service order wrong.
Beautiful location, friendly staff, overall good value.
When the hotel says WiFi you expect it in your room not just the lobby which is a hike. Beds were just OK Food was good but a bit pricey
What a lovely spot. So much to do, great staff, glorious views. A great vacation.
Room had a spectacular wrap-around porch with views of the Pacific and the cove. Excellent breakfast included. Nice main pool and a bonus having an adult pool. Good restaurants in the area and staff was helpful with recommendations and logistics. Plenty to do in surrounding area.
Private beach was beautiful
Location required $20 round trip taxi ride anytime we wanted to eat out or venture outside the hotel. We were told to change rooms after one night and were given only a few minutes to move out of one room and into another.
The facilities are spotless, very lush and great incorporation of natural rainforest throughout the resort. Very good breakfast each morning. Very hospitable and polite staff. You can book all excursions and activities at resort for a good price (ie canopy ziplines, etc.) and of course the proximity to Manuel Antonio national park was a bonus! The pools are beautiful and very relaxing (the adult pool). Great resort overall, really recommend to stay there if you get a good rate.
The beds/sheets were slightly uncomfortable, maybe it was the detergent used. Also the restaurant where we had dinner at the resort was overpriced for the food quality. Recommend eating outside just a few mins away by car.
Was told I was getting ocean view from our room, there was none. Drinks and food was overpriced. Our shower had a lot of black mold. Jaccuzi Was not working. And a lot of loud construction work going on
The hotel is nice and the view is amazing. Staff is very helpful and ready to help you at any time. Food is good, we only have breakfast there but it was good.
I think is to expensive, yes is nice but not that luxurious for that price. You can find nice places in Manuel Antonio for less for sure.
the staff was exceptional. Every need was met. The hotel was pristine and very comfortable. I would definitely recommend.
The only problem was getting to the beach - very long and strenuous walk.
Excellent staff, very helpful with all the travel bookings for my onwards journet through Costa Rica; a small smoking corner was introduced in the end after I complained we were forced to go beyond the gates to smoke (the Hotel has a lot of open space); pleasant views and pools
bland / uncharming room with weak / no wi-fi signal (ok in the lobby + restaurant); location needs transport either to the beaches, aprk or villages; Expresso coffee charged aside the breakfast;
Hotel Parador is a beautiful resort to stay in while visiting Manuel Antonio. The staff there were extremely helpful and friendly during our time there. We had gone for our honeymoon and it was a beautiful experience. I can honestly say it was by far one of the greatest hotels we have ever stayed in. The scenic views were excellent, along with their food and overall accommodations. There is so much to do at this one hotel, from their pools, to their swim up bar, to their monkey trails, tennis courts, and even offer a mini golf course. I would highly reccomend this hotel for anyone looking to relax and enjoy an amazing get away.
Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food delicious.
There was nothing not to like.
Location is amazing. Nice trails to walk, beach close. Shuttles available. Nice staff.
Restaurant needs more options, when we were there one was closed. Food was so so.
The location was excellent. Lots of iguanas and birds. Heard the monkeys but didnt see them.
We had a problem with our toilet. It took three times to fix it.
we loved the pool setting and the view. the location is awesome. we hiked to the private/cove beach which is a stones throw from the hotel. the spa and gym facilities were perfect adn gave myself and my husband a chance work out and relax. the staff is friendly and the rooms were kept clean and fresh every day. i would definitely return to the parador
the breakfast is good, but the dinner is not great/worth the money.. we did not find this to be a problem in that we ate out at other restaurants in the area. Emilios and Cafe Milagro....Falafel Cafe. so much to choose from.
Scenery, pool areas.
Food needs improvement. Decor of rooms also need upgrading.
friendly stuff ! helpful !
the bathroom little bit old ,,,,,
Loved the attentiveness of the staff - we were very tired after an exhausting birdwatching tour and the hotel was exactly what we needed - luxury, good food, brilliant environment - particularly liked the help we got to see the resident sloths from the gardeners and the hotel guide.
Can't think of anything
Lovely location with great views if Premium Plus room is booked.
Rather noisy around the main swimming pool area - use the lower 'adults only' pool instead. Access to the Premium Plus rooms difficult with stairs and long walks involved.
staff, location, trips, view, breakfast
dinner (average food and overpriced)
We loved the pools, although, all of them except one, should be available for all guests. As parents, we noticed that travellers without kids didn't go to the non-kids pools, they preferred the family friendly areas too. The hotel has done an amazing job with re-creating a tropical forrest. They do a great job with recycling. Guides were very knowledgable. Great shuttle to the park, and beaches. High level of security. Breakfast is much better than the other meals, althought far from amazing.
We upgraded. The first room we got was a huge disappointment in every way. Second room was fantastic, and in the tower. But, the price for the luxurious room is way too expensive considering the hotel's location, and that the restaurant is so terrible, you have to leave and go elsewhere for dinner, lunch is bad too but that we could live with.We found the dinner menu is overly ambitious, and the kitchen isn't competent to deliver. Overpriced overly complicated dishes that disappoint. Restaurant's napkins and table cloths looked ugly and felt terrible againt the skin, so old fashioned. Several guests occupied more than one pool lounge chair per person.
Everything was really great - the staff was very attentive and helpful. I would totally recommend this hotel!
it could have been a little bit closer to the national park Manuel Antonio and the restaurants nearby; the beach that is close to the hotel is not very nice and also not good for swimming
location! eclectic decor! View! Staff!
Too big (but it works)
The setting is wonderful. Staff, facilities and food are excellent.
The restaurant is overpriced. The room is very simple and the bathroom quite old (flush did not work well, tap and shower were noisy)
The location is fabulous with lush grounds, beautiful views, and their own little rainforest for guests to explore. The staff is very helpful and courteous, and the hotel provides a shuttle to nearby Manuel Antonio National Park. We plan to return next year for an even longer stay.
The breakfast buffet and lunches are quite good, but dinners are a bit uninspired and inconsistent. However, there are plenty of other choices in the local area.
