The Rio Tico is a couple of miles off the main road, and though we didn't mind, some might not appreciate the bumpy terrain to get there. The beds are very firm, however this seems common among CR smaller hotel/lodges.
The large, open tents were definitely something we found no where else while looking for places to stay during our trip to CR! The porches of each tent/room overlooked the river and the view was spectacular! We fell asleep listening to the flowing water and woke up to the sounds of howler monkeys, birds and cicadas!! Within a few hundred meters, there was a very easy walk to a waterfall, and we were the only two people there! The owner was very pleasant and he gave us great advice on what to do/where to stay during our next day/night. Have already decided to stay here again on our next trip.
