Tours from the hotel are a little bit more pricey, but that's usually normal everywhere.
The breakfast menu was a little bit boring and repetitive (fruit, rice and beans, eggs, bread), the fresh fruit though was delicious.
WE stayed for 3 nights (husband, teen daughter and I) during wet season in july and we loved our stay in samasati.
We got "tempus" house, it was very roomy, we'll equipped and clean, the view from both terraces was beautiful beyond imagination, beyond what pictures could show. The forest it's so wild and alive, samasati did a good job constructing the site without transforming the sour an dings or pushing nature back, you really feel embrace by Nature and yet you're as comfortable as you can be.
The wet season didn't spoiled the fun, we still had the chance to enjoy our afternoons at Punta Uva (very nice beach, playfool waves, quiet, clean, friendly not intrusive people around) , and as soon as the rain started we hit the little town Puerto Viejo and have coffe or icecream, buy some souvenirs, and some grocery shopping to cook dinner at Tempus House. We were always exited to go back to Samasati and enjoy the view and the rain from our comfortable house. Every day we saw exotic animals just passing in font of us like toucans every morning looking for a sunny spot to get dry from last night rain, or a sloth that spend a whole day hanging around a tree right in front our terrace. We also spot 2 different types bright and tinny frogs.
The yoga teacher was very knowledgeable, she help me to get rid of the neck pain I had and the room were we practiced (meditation hall) was what every yogi dreams to have at hand to hit the mat.
Spa treatments we didn't take any, so no word on that.
