The location next to the park could not be better. The staff went out of their way to be helpful.
We had an overall excellent experience. The only change I would request is that there be a more comfortable chair on the balcony!!!
As we arrived, we were greeted be Guillermo at the main entrance. He guided us towards the main office where we were greeted with a nice glass of mora juice (blackberry). We checked in and Guillermo took us to our room helping us with our luggage. The room was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable, I was impressed. We visited the adult pool on the 6th floor and the view was amazing! Great for the sunset. They have a bar with happy hour from 4pm to 6pm ($20 all you can drink) I think it should've been more like 2x1 drinks instead of open bar for $20. They have a small tunnel that takes you to the main road towards the beach. It can be a little sketchy but you'll be at the beach in less than 2 minutes. This tunnel is open 6am to 6pm. Breakfast was included. It's buffet style from 6am to 9am. After 9am you can get a la carte breakfast. It was actually very good. From pancakes and French toast to the more common Gallo pinto and eggs. Lastly. The spa! Sana spa was very good and very professional. We got a couples massage and was extremely relaxing! They offer many types of services to please everyone and the prices were reasonable. In in all I would definitely stay here again. The hotel prices might be a bit high for what it is, but the service you get from the staff is exceptional and the hotel grounds are well maintained. Very happy with our stay!
Everything in the kitchen, besides breakfast, was bad. We ordered lunch and we just couldn't eat it (Caesar salad and fried calamari) did not taste good at all. I recommend going out to the hundreds of restaurants in the area (wagon, avion, marlin) to name a few restaurants. Something's gotta be done in the kitchen as many reviews say the restaurant is bad. The free wifi was extremely bad. We had no reception the entire trip. It did not work anywhere. They really should work on this as many tourist come looking for a good wifi connection. Besides this two things, I can't think of anything else bad.
The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way several times for us during our stay. The manager certainly understood customer service and the rest followed suit. The location, literally right next to the entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park, could not be any better if that is why you are there. You are a two minute walk to the beach and 5-10 minute walk to some wonderful restaurants. Also the pool and lounge on the 6th floor had amazing views. Perfect place for sunset drinks.
The water slide was too fast for our kids (ages 10 and 7). This was a bit of a let down, but not a deal breaker. They loved the pool.
Location - right next to the park. Good staff.
The hotel is dated & actually quite pricey. Very popular with the packaged tourists.
We enjoy time at the hotel. We are from Colombian and we want to go to the Manuel Antonio park, so... the location was excellent!
We did reservation through Booking.com and for security we only have the credit card number but no physical and the hotel did not want to accept that.
-Walking distance to everything -Staff to guest ratio high, so always someone ready to assist. - National park is right on the boundary, so the sounds of the jungle is right outside your door and can include visitors from the local monkeys.
Location perfect for Reserve and viewing birds and wildlife, room quality top notch, 6th floor bar/restaurant has incredible views, access to beach very easy, excellent parking if you have a car, staff very attentive, friendly, and helpful.
Hard to think of any faults. They suggest having them pick up your luggage for you when leaving, but that likely applies only to people who don't use a car.
nice everything nice people nice place, nice location
poor service at restaurant
The location right next to the National park and 5 minutes walk to the local restaurants, bars. The room was very quiet and had a great view over the gardens. Super comfortable bed and very pleasant and obliging staff, Good breakfast. The pool was nice and warm.
The location was fantastic and the National Park right next door. Activities are located on the Main Street leading to the Park and hotel. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Water pressure in the shower is very nice and the balconies have a nice view of the Ocean. The food in the restaurant is fantastic! And the prices are very reasonable. The best of all, the people of Costa Rica are the warmest, friendliest, and soooo accommodating!!!! The hotel staff exemplify the people of Costa Rica! Pura Vida!!!
The Wi-Fi signal is weak in places in the hotel. Maybe a stronger router will fix this issue, but it is minor compared to the other amenities.
Staff was very friendly, polite, and helpful. The front desk staff were a great help in helping us set up daily activities/tours. We worked with Francisco most of the time. He was excellent in everything we needed. especially in coordinating our tours. The Mulguri tour was the highlight of our trip for the whole week. Such a great tour. Would not change a thing about it. We felt like we really got to see the authentic costa rica. Going to the jungle, the cascades and having a home cooked meal with a family in their home was very special. Our guide Shaggy was amazing. Extremely fun, helpful and knowledgeable. He seems to genuinely enjoy being a guide and takes pride in showing and teaching us about the jungle and other aspects of costa rica. Amazing tour!! Keeping it small and not open to public makes it special and does not ruin the natural experience.
No coffee maker in the room. It would be nice to have for the mornings we were up before the restaurant was open. Or just have a self serve coffee station set up near the front lobby or restaurant would be perfect. WIFI was not very good. Could be improved
It's very close to Manuel Antonio National Park There's a pool in the sixth floor. Also there's a deck with view to the ocean, pretty cool
Price was a little expensive
We booked a room for 3 people over a week in advance and paid with a credit card. On arrival we were put in a small room made even smaller when they drug in a small wooden bed. They charged us $30 more per night for that.
The hotel is at the entrance to the National Park and across the street from the beach when you use the special exit to the beach. The staff is incredible. Don't miss the pool and the views from the 6th floor. Beware if you are traveling to any hotel in Costa Rica because if you arrive with children over 8 there will be an additional charge. These sites only tell the hotel 2 adults and assume children up to 17 will be free, but that is not so. At at San Bada it is an additional $40 for each older child.
That Booking does not reserve for the correct number of people who need to pay (they assumed the young teens are free) and I had to pay more at the hotel.
1. The location - close to the beach and the park. 2. The large fridge, the comfortable bed, the TV. 3. Pleasant staff. 4. The pool with water slide. 5. Overall clean environment.
The faucet in our bathroom didn't have much water coming out of it and was a little difficult to use.
Location is everything! Right outside (literally) then national park.
You could not get coffee on the 6th floor Adults Only area. Alcohol- Si'. Cafe - NO!
The view from the restaurant was beautiful and a nice place to relax. The beds and rooms were nice and fresh, lots of light. The service in restaurant was friendly and accommodating. Nice spa. There were lots of pretty plants around the area. Nice and close to the Ntl Park!
There was a little balcony but no chairs to sit on. Needed to have more sitting areas. Food average in restaurant, but pricey.
The main reason we stayed at this hotel was because it was right next to Manuel Antonio park and we had been told that the squirrel monkeys visited that hotel. We weren't disappointed, we saw a large family of squirrel monkeys. The restaurant was very good. The Food and Beverage Manager, Jorge Madriz, introduced himself to all of the diners and made sure that we were satisfied with the food. Our dinner was excellent!
Our room needed some bedside lamps.
Location, and access to the park and beach, view from hotel roof bar and pool area.
Reserved a room specifying with 2 beds, but they only had a room with one bed (king) when we checked in. However they changed our room to one with 2 beds the next night.
Close to great beach, park and easy walking to restaurants. Rooms clean, air conditioned with comfortable beds. Good WiFi-always connected
The hotel is right at the entrance of the Nationalpark and close to one of the best beaches of costa Rica. The rooms are very clean, modern and comfortable. We also had a nice view. The staff at the hotel is very friendly.
The hotel restaurant is really bad. Breakfast buffet was borderline disgusting and staff is inattentive. One other point we did not like was that the hotel mostly hosts bus groups, which are mostly old americans and give the hotel a feeling of a retirement home.
Our room on the fifth floor had a wonderful view of the ocean. We also enjoyed the adults only pool on the sixth floor and the chairs in the sixth floor bar area that faced the ocean so many people could enjoy a drink and watch the incredible sunset.
It would be nice if they had a shower and change room near the main pool for use by guests who had checked out but wanted to go to the beach or use the pool for the remainder of the day. Other hotels in the area offer this service.
Probably the best location in Manuel Antonio
Location was wonderful. The adults only people and bar on the top floor was a plus and the view is excellent.
The bed was hard and floor felt dirty.
Lots of finishing work to be done or it was just sloppy work . Took away from the appeal of the hotel
