Parrita itself isn't much of anything.
Parrita itself isn't much of anything. But the property we stayed at - Cocomar, which is located in between the Parrita town and Palo Seco beach, is fantastic, and i would've loved to spend a little longer there.

We found the people in Parrita to be very friendly and helpful. Although many do not speak English everyone finds a way to communicate. My dog had an allergic reaction to some food and the Vet Alfonso Govdoba was fantastic!!! Take the time to walk down the main street and shop in the little stores... we found some excellent finds for both souvenirs and needed clothing. A little town just on the highway...... worth the effort to see the real Costa Rica not just the Touristy one.
Definitely recommend. Quiet beautiful setting.
Ambience of the hotel was excellent. Lovely room with stylish nautical-themed interior decor. The bed was large (superking) and comfy.
The French hosts were very warm and welcoming.
We had evening dinner x2 - the main courses were both beatifully cooked and very tasty!
A great base from which to explore - we visited Rainmaker (wonderful waterfalls and swimming holes) and Manuel Antonio National Park (remember you need to book a time slot on the internet before visiting)
The most important aspect of this hotel is the location..... completely apart from any one..... you have kilometers of beach only for you and very few lucky ones..... the building is well maintained... clean.... comfortable... if I had a great experience as a local that live 55km away from this hotel and beach and considering I can come any time and day to this beach.. what else I can say?.... the hotel knows its deal.....
It is in a quiet part of Parrita. With the beach across the street and jungle behind. It’s nice to get away from the busy life. Property is owned by a sweet older French couple. They are very kind and knowledgeable about the area. Beach is empty with almost no one around, just beware of the surf, because there is a very strong riptide.
Super quiet, remote location and absolutely gorgeous area. Hotel had very easy access to the an absolutely stunning, quiet, uncrowded beach. Fun little pool and bar. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were comfortable with a full size fridge and patio. And the staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
- beautiful garden and pool area
- even more beautifully decorated room, we felt extremely comfy and relaxed during our stay
- we had several kilometers of beach in front of the hotel just for ourselves
- the only restaurant for dinner closeby, about 10-15min walking distance to the west was also really good!
We loved the restaurant at the hotel. The food was amazing with an interesting selection on the menu and a delicious daily special. The happy hour was great too. The staff in the restaurant are also very attentive and friendly. We liked hanging out by the pool as well and going to watch the sunset on the beach.
Truly a hidden gem. Casa el colibri is situated quietly surounded by beautiful nature. Our room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The owner is helpful, friendly and has a lot of good advice what to do in this area. He made us the best crêpes for breakfast!
Merci beaucoup Kevin!!
Pura vida
I would go here again and recommend to my all friends
Great hotel management
Bernard & Elizabeth 💚
We absolutely love the fact we had bungalow on front of beach with excellent porch
Great French breakfast with Beautifully arranged fruit 🤔🍉 delicious eggs 🍳 baguette 🥖
The breakfast cooked by the owner is a great way to start the day, the owner and staff are friendly and easy to communicate with, the hotel is peaceful and a bit away from the action which makes it a good place to take a break.
It was less than 2 miles from Parrita but seemed remote. Beautiful empty beach from which one could appreciate sunrises and sunsets.
Elizabeth and Bernard were welcoming, engaging and knowledgeable.
Service was amazing. Location is stunning. So secluded, so private, so quiet. We loved the room too. Large enough to relax and not feel like you're cramped in a normal hotel/resort room.
the beach in front of the hotel is absolutely amazing. one of the best in our trip to costa rica. if you like secluded beaches you'll definitely love this one.
