Very friendly staff and nice and clean villas . Very good value fot the money you pay
In our villa wifi we had bad vinnection wifi in the sleepingroom.
The drive in sort of gives you a bad feeling because the surrounding buildings are a bit run down but DON'T let that scare you away, the hotel is very nice and we felt completely safe and secure. The staff at Villa Dolce was amazing! Safi at the front desk was so kind and arranged shuttles from our rental car drop off back to the hotel and to the airport in the morning. She even contacted the rental car agency for us to see if they would come pick it up. The owners were great too! The room was clean and spacious, which made packing everything for the flight home easier. We didn't end up using the pool but it was really cute!
The location to the airport was good. The breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and courteous.
The neighborhood didn't seem like a good one to be around.
No one at front desk during the night, minimum bathroom items, no options for breakfast
Staff friendly and helpfull
Room spacious but very basic
Very close to the airport and in a neighborhood with some typical Costa Rican foods.
Very difficult to find, but not the hotels fault. There are no street signs in Costa Rica.
Maria, Franco and Staffey (spelling?) were outstanding hosts! We had an emergency situation occur requiring medical attention and Maria's and Staffey's assistance was invaluable. We would highly recommend Villa Dolce.
No hot water. Charged the wrong price.
Very close to airport, close to volcano Poas. The owner is great!
Comfortable accommodations and friendly laid-back staff. Spent one day at the zoo, then had an elegant lunch at a resort within walking distance of the zoo.
Inadequate meals service. Limited options to order in and the food was not tasty, or even what was ordered. Too close to a major industrial complex with lots of road noise..
Close to airport for arriving & departing flights. Secure (but see the other side of security in terms of safety hazard)
Noisy - villas back right up to Pan American highway. Fire hazard - front gate only opens via remote - I appreciate the security but I don't know that there is an emergency route to get out in case of fire, earthquake or other event.
Nice decoration of the rooms
the airco is pre-set at a high temperature, you cannot change it. Presumably to save money on electricity. I had a bad and hot night because of that.
Very helpful staff, esp. with early AM taxi. Well kept grounds and pool. Great breakfasts.
Constant and intrusive highway/truck/"Jake Brake" noise. Hotel wedged between two highways.
everyone was very helpful. beautiful grounds. very nice.
Spacious rooms, beautiful setting, an oasis away from the noise of the city.
Beds are a little hard.
Noise from road
Nice and friendly owners
For a budget hotel some surprisingly high charges for trivial things like water and laundry service. Spoils the fun!
It was only 10 mins away from the airport. Taxi was $12 to get there so factor that in to your costs if you don't have a car.
This property was so noisy it was like I was sleeping on the motorway with a truck for a blanket. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want a decent night's sleep.
Located reasonably close to the airport. The room was very clean with excellent water pressure and hot water. Grounds were very clean and well maintained. Maria and her husband went out of their way to help us with arranging taxis and helping us with returning our rental vehicle.
Everything! Maria was sound!
Not much except the security gate & pleasant garden with secure parking.
There was no restaurant although one was quoted in the facilities. The only way to get food was for the staff To order a takeaway pizza which was not what we wanted. We were told there was a restaurant within walking distance but we didn't find one (also it was not a pleasant area to be walking in the dark .) We eventually went back for the car & found a less than average Chinese. There was only 1 coat hanger The bathroom smelt of bad drainage. Not up to 4 stars as advertised.
Despite my minor complaint this was an excellent hotel. The staff was amazing: hardworking, helpful, sweet, going out of their way to make our stay great. Breakfast was tasty. I will go back if I am in Alajuela again!
Some of the sheets smelled stale
For last minute, they were very accommodating. And emailed me advice on car rental and travel. Very friendly and helpful, without a doubt. I did not utilize any amenities, so no feedback on that, though the pool looked beautiful.
We only slept there since our flight was delayed, and left first thing in the morning. it was the most expensive hotel that I paid for on my trip to costa rica. I stayed in better places for cheaper. but that doesn't take away from how accommodating they were, and everything was great. I would pay $45 tops. I would have tried to negotiate if I were booking in person, which I did at every other hotel I stayed at. Still very appreciative for everything.
Very helpful staff and owners
