Santa Teresa for us was a completely disastrous in terms of development. I cannot even imagine anyone wanting to live there. The scenery once you get beyond the mishmash of stores 3 centimeters from the really poor roads is wonderful. It is a surfer place and nothing more. I would not ever go back for any reason

Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach.
Santa Teresa has the most beautiful beach. There are so many places to eat that have great food. Santa Teresa does not feel as crowded as some other beaches in Costa Rica, and I honestly feel very safe there. I would highly recommmend this place.

The property is amazing.
The property is amazing. The pool is super cute, the rooms are spacious and modern.
BUT the Beach Club/Restaurant charged us for things we didn’t order. We will always pay for everything we eat and drink but when things are added on our bills that we didn’t consume, we regretfully are super bitter. The hotel is looking into it and said they will get back to us. They have t yet.
Also, they advocate that they are an adult only hotel but there were kids at the restaurant and at pool.

Wooden shacks with corrugated metal roofs along a dusty dirt road. Restaurants use camping-style kitchens and where they get their groceries with absolutely no decent food market within at least two hours driving is their secret. There is absolutely no sewage system anywhere. Everyone just has a whole in the ground they call ‘septic system’. Just steps from the beach !! Would be interesting to have the water quality tested..

Lovely.
Lovely. Beautiful beach with soft sand, wonderful sunsets, great waves, a lot of nature.
A bit too many people (lots of surfers) and cars in some parts, but great offer in terms of cafes, restaurants, yoga and surf lessons.

As a solo traveler I like going to Santa Teresa, I feel very safe and it seems everyone is aware of the importance to look after each other, specially between women. The quality of the food served in every restaurant, coffee place or bar is very high, therefore, quality over price is fair. And the beach itself is very beautiful, and the sunsets are always amazing!

The host is a very warm and welcoming local and just started this hotel together with his wife. As a fisherman you also get to know his hobby if you like. The kitchen open to the jungle is a very nice natural place, you got lockers, surfboards racks, outdoor showers, towels and locks for small rent and a sufficient and clean kitchen equipment. It is not central in Santa Teresa but directly to playa carmen where you have supermarkets, surf and atv rentals and the beach to reach in 2 minutes. Overall a very good stay and highly recommended.
The location was great (across the street from path to beach), nice garden with pool, functional kitchen with good hanging area, hammocks to hang in and own patio. The room had great AC and was very comfortable. Grocery store is a quick walk. Surf shop attached to hotel and has fine boards. As a 30 year old traveler I really appreciated the comforts and privacy this place provided but the community feel from a hostel. Would recommend this spot to anyone!
Had the most amazing time with my partner in Santa Teresa. Hotel Beunos Aires is lovely with stunning views, a lovely breakfast each morning. Javi and Flo were fantastic hosts and very accommodating. Rooms were clean. One thing to consider is the hill you need to climb to get to the rooms, we didn't mind as it kept us in good shape :D, just one thing to consider if you chose to stay here :) We will definitely be coming back! Thank you :D
Ventura Santa Teresa is the perfect place for a holiday in Santa Teresa. Very clean, modern and comfortable and with a great location right in front of an amazing surf spot and next to many great places to eat. Also the restaurant from the hotel has fantastic food try the gf banana bread for breakfast or their fish casados for lunch. The staff where all very kind and helpful, specially David that helped us a lot to make our stay great!
Best hostel in Santa Teresa! The dorm was huge, with so much space between beds. Because it's not on the main road (super noisy with quads) it was peaceful and silent (except for the howler monkeys and colorful birds that live around it! :))
It's perfect for surfing, literally 2 minutes walk from the beach break of Playa Santa Teresa.
Marco and his staff are super helpful and nice. And last but not least, the vibe there was amazing!
Great location right in the centre of Santa Teresa, a few minutes walk to the beach and directly opposite a supermarket.
There are shops, restaurants and surf schools everywhere.
It's on a busy, dirt, main road but far back enough and surrounded by foliage to not be bothered by the noise. The garden was tranquil and we spotted some wildlife.
The breakfast was good (fruit, bread, cake, jam, tea, coffee or water).
When we booked, we didn’t have a sense of how close to the beach, restaurants, and shops we would be. At Horizon, were right where we wanted to be and we plan to stay at Horizon the next time we vacation in Santa Teresa!
There was a comfy hanging day bed on the balcony patio (see picture) that my daughter would take a nap on, and I would go out in the mornings and read my book there.
Lovely and very helpful hosts. Lovely little details around the hotel and very comfortable hammocks which are perfect for a little chill out. Room was clean and comes with an own fridge which was amazing.
Playa Carmen is 500m from Cocobolo which was amazing! Also great location next to several restaurants (such as The Bakery!) and the only atm around Santa Teresa.
The property itself it’s so beautiful and tropical with some of the most amazing views. It is located 5 min to Santa Teresa, where there were so many things to do and explore. Our Villa was perfect for our two-week stay, and every single staff member we encountered were so kind and accommodating. We felt like royalty during our stay, and would love to come back.
Ideal location in Santa Teresa with an easy walk to the beach, restaurants, bars, etc. Nice to have a pool to cool down in during heat of the day. The room was perfect with comfortable beds, a refrigerator for refreshments and a big ceiling fan to keep it cool. Really enjoyed the howler monkeys that were above us in the mango trees.
I had a very enjoyable stay at Luz de Luna.
The room is spacious, and the private hammock with view on the garden was perfect to relax.
The hotel is also ideally located in Santa Teresa, very close to the beach and main road.
Christophe the owner was also very helpful regarding tips to enjoy the area, I highly recommend !
The hotel host was súper friendly and helpfull. We had no car and that was very difficult so the host gave us a ride many times! Also he gave us surf lessons he was very passionated about. He gave us also a lot of tips for Santa Teresa and around.
This hotel is 5 minute walk from beach and from town. Very convenient. Good AC. Simple but filling breakfast. Nice pool. Kitchenette was useful. Surf boards for rent were in good shape and cheaper than renting in town. Soft towels.
The hostel has a good vibe and is in a perfect place on Santa Teresa Beach. People are friendly and nice. I would probably enjoy my time there if I am alone and seeking for some fun.
