I would have spent 3 days there maximum and spent the other 4 days in Tarrafal, instead.
In general I enjoyed my stay there, but Tarrafal it’s a different world, where you can actually feel the culture and be surrounded with beauty. Cidade abelha is also a must and it’s absolutely beautiful.
I would have loved to manage to see the typical ceramics, but people don’t talk much and don’t value much (unfortunately). I actually went to Sai Domingos on purpose to see it, but the locals said it was closed.

I loved the sun, the water, the history of the people, the moutains and the rest of the land, the beaches, Tarrafel and the kindness of the people. Its a great place for a vacation if you just want sun and the easy life on the beach or climbing mountain trails if you like. I will return!!

Praia is the capital of Cape Verde.
Praia is the capital of Cape Verde. The Santiago island is not the best if you are looking for a great beach experience. There are other islands with easy access that have superb beaches. We did a tour around the island which was interesting visiting Cidade Velha and Tarrafal as well as Sao Vicente. Tarrafal was a nice beach. The two main markets in Praia are a must see, also where you can buy some mementos.

Praia is a small "African" town, where you stroll around and enjoy the moment. There is actually nothing spectacular to see, but as a whole it is quite enjoyable. We walked thru Plato and along the beaches (Quebra Canela and Prainha). The restaurants there are really great: good food and nice view! But prices are higher than one would expect, more European.
The property was cleaned and well furnished. Location was nice and quiet. I felt save walking alone at night My host, Antonio was awesome, he made sure I felt save and comfortable. He was more than a host, a great individual and amazing guy. He was able to give me a tour of Santiago, and I highly recommend him to any tourist wishing to explore Praia and its environs. We visited beautiful beaches, National Park, and historic locations during our tour. The winding road and the hilly terrain added much value to the tour.
The room was clean, bright and beautiful, the balcony and view were spectacular. The salt water pool was large, clean and warm. The night front desk officers Luis and Mario were excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, as was the breakfast staff.
I also liked that the hotel pictures on the site are accurate - it is surrounded by a very rocky beach and doesn't present itself as beach hotel with an accessible sandy beach. There is a little sandy beach cove next to the hotel where people can swim.
The host is very nice and helpfull (he help us to find colectivos and taxis or to change cash) and have a lot of advices to give about visiting Praia and Santiago island.
The breakfast is very good both in taste and quantity and varies from morning. (Fresh natural juice, bread, fresh fruits, coffee, milk, omelette or catchupa).
The fan in the room was really enjoyable.
The appartement is very close sucupira market (not even a minutes) where you can also find colectivos to go to other place in Santiago.
The room was nice and clean. I only stayed one night. I arrived late but the owners helped me by booking a taxi to pick me up at the port, they also came to give me the key.
The owners also helped me pick up a aluguer to the mountain by dropping at the « station ».
They were both super nice and really helpful.
The location is quite nice and there is a nice brunch place not too far from the hotel.
Breakfast was aright, overall my experience wasn't that great.
My first time there and the staff definitely didn't know what they were doing (front desk) they over charged us, they didn't have a room keys for us, the room was smalling like a cigarettes I talked to front desk about it they didn't do anything or at least try, we ended up moved to different hotel.
Very disappointed :-(
Everything is well organized. The room is clean equipped with the kitchen staff. No fun there is A.C. which works very well. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom are extremely clean and comfortable. The hotel is close to supermarkets and restaurants in Palmarejo area. The best deal in this area.
The positive point at Vivenda Viviani is the swimming pool, even if it is not a big one. You appreciate it after a day walking in Praia... The location is quiet and there are a few restaurants and small supermarket not too far.
The room was big, the shower was good. The breakfast was good (but not exceptional).
The hotel is beautiful, simple and in a good location that felt safe and was close to everything. The staff is amazing and so helpful, especially Becky who made us feel so welcome, thank you! The salt water pool is so wonderful and refreshing. The restaurant serves delicious food and breakfast every day.
Spacious and clean room. Centrally located with lots of restaurants nearby. Very good Internet connection. Good matrasses. Fluent communication in English with the manager who helped us with transport from airport and to Tarrafal.
Very clean, quiet, spacial, well equipped and new apartment in a great area of praia! Kind and uncomplicated communication.
We were very happy to stay at this apartment and would recommend it for 100 percent.
Not the cheapest but very good location, big rooms, nice balcony. Breakfast not great but OK. Close to ferry and airport. I used this hotel as my Praia base traveling Brava, Fogo, Maio.
Great staff. Very friendly and accommodating. Great location in centre of pedestrian mall. Great food at restaurant attached to this hotel across the street..
This is a private house with 3 rooms. The couple (who also live here) are very nice and try to accommodate all requests. Very helpful to navigate Praia.
