Avila Hotel  

The hotel area is beautiful with historical buildings and two small beaches. Location is good near downtown. On the other hand in the eveninings you might have to be extra careful in some sections along Penstraat. There is good atmosphere in the hotel. Staff is friendly and guests respect each other. Everybody have their own privacy. No drunks and no disturbance. Rooms are clean. Food is good. Gym is absolutely the best I have seen in any hotel. We are happy we chose Avila and would love to return. Without the slightest doubt we can recommend this hotel!

Good beach in 1 minute from your room. Smooth sand, shallow harbor. No problems with a beach chairs or towels. Extremaly good coffe in Coffee Factory (cafe barista)

Hotel have three blocks Blues Octagon Belalyans Blues looks very old. It may be difficult to sleep because of the noise of the surf. Octagon looks really renewed and rooms have a kitchens Belalyans looks renewed inside the rooms, but all furniture are cheep. Rooms have no kitchens. The size of the rooms is about 20m. I was particularly annoyed mattresses. Lifts, stairs need to be renewed and decorated. Avilla is most of the oldest hotels on the island. They have a museum where you can finde Rols Roys of Queen. She had a stay in this hotel. The most problems of this hotel 1. It is overpriced. You can find 3 bedroom villa that is near to the downtown and better equiped but in Avilla you will have only a small room. 2. Service is not too good. The barmans are not professional. Service staff is not thinking about what you need right now. It is defenetly not luxury hotel. 3. Dress code in most locations. It looks a little bit strange for this place. 4. Most visitors are over 60 y.o. Definetly i don't understand why the price is so high

We enjoyed the resort facilities. Everything was close and available to use. We really enjoyed our room and how close it was to the beach. We were able to easily walk into town. The people who worked there were great and very friendly. He had the morning buffet breakfast, which was excellent. We enjoyed the Blues restaurant and had a wonderful whole Caribbean Lobster that was delicious. The 3 beach areas were nice and not crowded and we enjoyed the pool and walking around the facilities.

They were a bit short on towels during our stay.

De restaurants kunnen we niet beoordelen ( er zijn uitstekende gelegenheden in de nabije omgeving. Een salade bij de Schoonerbar was uitermate slecht ( een krop icebergsla doorgesneden en op het bord gegooid) Na opmerkingen vervangen door iets beters. Personeel bleek niet eens verrast.

Die Lage des Hotels ist ideal, um einerseits das Meer mit dem unmittelbar davorliegenden Schnorchelriff zu geniessen, andererseits abends zu Fuss nach Willemstad zu gelangen. Wir wurden aufgrund eines Buchungsfehlers spontan in eine direkt am Meer liegende herrliche Mehrzimmersuite umgebucht und konnten so den Urlaub doppelt geniessen. Das Verhalten der Mitarbeitenden am Empfang verdient in dieser Hinsicht ein grosses Lob. Die Zimmerreinigung war perfekt, der Garten sehr gepflegt und das Schnorcheln mit wenig Aufwand lohnend.

Die Mitarbeitenden in der Schoonerbar zeigten - auch für karibische Verhältnisse - wenig Motivation. Das Frühstücksbuffet war in Ordnung, wurde aber bereits eine Stunde vor dem Ende der Schliessung nicht mehr nachgefüllt. Die Liegemöglichkeiten am Strand sind knapp.

Wij waeren tevreden, en dat is heel prettig als je op vakantie bent

De keuken kan veel beter, gelukkig zijn er goede resteraunts in de beurt

Todo es de fácil acceso, llegas pronto a la playa al restaurant, etc

Es un poco aburrido............

Lage: die Innenstadt kann leicht ohne Auto/Taxi erreicht werden. Einige gute Restaurants in ca. 5 min. Erreichbar, ebenfalls ohne Auto.

Sauberkeit, Service, Mitarbeiter, Hotel haellt sich nicht an den mit booking.com vereinbarten und bestaetigten Preis,

Es un hotel excelente para los que buscan una buena atención, buena comida y ambiente agradable. Especial para luna de miel, los precios son acordes con tu exigencia. Sus instalaciones se prestan para disfrutar el atardecer caribeño y tener una cena romantica. La musica en vivo es bastante moderada, lo que permite bailar sin llegar al desorden. El personal del hotel en su mayoria locales, tratan en lo posible de complacer al cliente en lo mas minimo. Lo recomiendo altamente.

Hice la reservación por internet www.booking.com, y cuando llegue al hotel no aparecia en sistema, lo que me causo algo de molestia, pero fue recompensada con la atención del recepcionista "Sr. Alberto", quien se presto muy coloborador y dio solución oportuna a esa falla.
