It was a beautiful full service resort with a great golf course. The rooms are spacious with your own balcony. Great pool and great privet beach. Free wifi in the main lobby.
You could tell that this place needs a steady management in every way then it will be a success. The service is quite slow, long waits on food, drinks, house keeping. Food a little overpriced for what you get. You definitely need a car if you wanna see the rest of curaçao (which is not really a dislike).
There need to be 24 hour hotel transportation to other places on the island or to the town
Everything is great in the hotel.
unfortunately the Beds were not comfortable. extremaly soft and were like an hamaca.
Great room with a luxury finish, excellent kingsize bed. Loved the premises: beautiful white sandy beach, nice to go snorkeling and suitable for little kids. Good variety of breakfast choices (although to expensive if you ask me). Loved the icecream at the pizzaria. Would advise you to rent a car as the premises are very remote (driveway to hotel alone is 5km)
Price of breakfastmenu, although there is a great choice of variety and the food tastes excellent, I just don't eat enough for it to be worth $27 p.p.p.d.
Super friendly staff, great accommodation, crazy good value
Could have had some simple food options in the bar area
Private resort and beach area, away from other resorts. Great for relaxing.
Had a great sushi restaurant named Jun - but was only open 3 evenings a week. Wish it was open everyday.
I loved the great room in the entrance. It was a beautiful place to lounge around with a cocktail during sunset. Also, there is free wifi in this room. Our own room was spacious, nice furniture and a beautiful view from the balcony. The beach right outside the hotel was really great. Some people might find it remote, because it is, but we enjoyed the opportunity to get away from it all and relax.
I have several of the staff's names recorded and will include them in a letter I'll be sending to the resort. I'll also be mentioning them all in a review I'll do on trip adviser. This is how passionate we are about our experience at Santa Barbara Resort. We don't have the time or the money to travel as often as we'd like so out trips are extremely important for us. Your entire staff made us feel comfortable and welcome from our first greeting at check-in till check -out. Thanks to all of you for a wonderfully relaxing vacation. We were treated like royalty. Julia and Darrell
The hotel staff goes above and beyond to ensure your visit is unforgettable. Jaymie Shardy Stephy and Ela at the front desk all examples of outstanding staff...we loved the service
A resort like this should do more in terms of transportation to the city which is only twenty minutes away. After 11pm at night you're paying a cab $15 to get on or off the resort. If you don't mind driving they offer a rental car service but who wants to risk driving late night on a foreign road which.
It was a beautiful resort and well guarded, it gave us a safe feeling.
The ac set too high and controlled by front desk, the price increase due to Jazz Festival, we were there for a funeral, not the festival. Lack of sufficient staff, in restaurants during the crowded period and overpriced period. Not enough high seating for the elderly in pool and beach area.
We were there to celebrate my brother-in-law's birthday from 7/11/14 to 7/17/14. The resort is absolutely breathtaking...beach is beautiful; security gate was a plus; every staff member we encountered was extremely outstanding, especially at Medi: (MaryAnn, Jonathan the Chef, Mark, Duhty(?), Angela, Karen(?), the cleaning crew--including the groundsmen); the little cafe with the gelato, etc; food at Medi was excellent (albeit limited); loved the live entertainment on Tuesday night...would have loved another night of that!
Although Curacao is considered to be a Caribbean island, the re sort did not even bend (let alone cater) to Caribbean clientele--very disappointing. Also, transport to town was outrageously expensive ($22 US/person return...we were not comfortable with riding the bus); Even though the food was very tasty, the Medi restaurant dinner menu choices were very limited; there was no free wifi in the rooms; we were charged for beach towels; there was always an extremely long wait for food in the 3 restaurants. We felt like hostages on the compound because we wanted to experience the night life in Curacao but the resort was not very accommodating...offered no suggestions, and basically advised us we were on our own.
Given our first impression of the island which was slightly disappointing Santa Barbara Resort gave us a true feeling of the caribbean way to live, with all it's beauty of the sea, the food and friendliness of the people.
Nothing to do with the hotel but with the history of the island and the fate of the original inhabitants and the strong influence of the western world.
Kids club Restaurant and food Beach and pool
Distance from Willemstad and restaurants off the resort property
Very Prestine .The staff was very helpful .
Have no complaints right now.
wifi service terrible. very irritating. paid to have in room and did not work more than half the time. suggest you make free in rooms as it is very annoying to have to run back and forth from distant room to front desk.
Facilities are beautiful. Staff is warm and accommodating. Golf course is in great shape. Everything was wonderful.
It's a bit far from everything else.
Small beds. We were 3 staying in a doble room and beds are not really confortable for 2. We requested and extra but they told us there are not available.
Location , Golf course ,
The stuff is the weakest point in the hotel, hard to express how much they spoiled our holiday. Stuff is the worst we have ever met, ignoring guests and arguing on every step.To get coffe in the morning you have to be so , so...patient and repeat your request 100 times to many different waiters. Towels were missing nearly everyday during our 8 days stay. At he end they forgot to pick up our luggage as well as our morning airport transfer(already pre- paid). Stuff simply seem to be happy while ignore us - guests.
Lugar muy agradable y tranquilo
Falta otro restaurante para temporada alta
Very nice hotel complex: building, rooms, grounds and surrounding area. Great views from many of the rooms. Great facilities with the beach and pool as well as fitness center, snack bar and beautiful common area. Friendly staff that always greet you with a smile everywhere at the hotel.
The only negative is the two restaurants that are expensive and not that professionally run. The service staff do not seem to be well enough trained for the level you expect given the prices. Food not that great either. (For example USD 55 per person for a set menu at Medi for three courses, the main course of which was inedible/uncooked. Add to that 15% service and 7% tax. On the same night the set menu at the Shore was USD 85 plus service/tax). Fortunately, there are cheaper alternatives at the Splash pool bar and the pizza/ice cream snack shop.
Excellent food. Excellent service. Very tasteful decor. Quiet. Very comfortable.
Pricey. Poor use of (extensive) waterfront setting. Waterfront area used as dumping ground for damaged furniture and garbage.
The ellegant true 5 Star athmosphere. The well maintained whole environment. the beautiful beach. The Golf course on the same premesis. The Excellent Shushi offering at the eveing bar.
The location is some what remote. Which on the other side is also an advantage. Renting a car is recommended, if you plan to be mobile, as taxi rates are relatively expensive.
I liked that the hotel is distant from everything,it is an gated area which makes you feel safe, its aslo very relaxing. Though that everything is far away you can still get everything on the property. The pool and the beach was very nice also.
The prices are very high, $9 for a juice?! One thing I still don't understand and didn't quite like was the no shower doors or no bathroom doors... Its very cold when you shower.. Thought they have warm/hot water.
The room, the ambiance was very relaxing. Friendly staff.
