Friendly and helpful staff. Location,5minutes from the floating market. Courtyard veranda to sit outside my room
The location was great. It was so handy to the tourist area of Willemstad. We felt very safe. It was quiet. The staff met our needs.
I liked how close it was from downtown. I liked the facilities too. It is an old building, but it is in great condition. Staff was friendly and diligent.
Location is hard to find. But locals are very helpful giving directions :)
I liked that this hotel is very close to the downtown area. The hotel grounds and the hotel itself were very nice.
I didn't like that although I booked an apartment several months before my arrival, I was given a standard room. I was given the apartment I paid for on the second night and my first night free due to me complaining. I think that if I didn't complain, the hotel would have not fixed their mistake.
Location and very friendly and helfpful staff. Small pool in the garden to chill in. Grill if you want to use it to prepare your own steak...
The hotel is situated next to the floating market which can be a little bit noisy from early morning. If you are in Curacao during "event" time, you will also hear from time to time music till late night/morning. Who likes it, no problem
The location - near to the waterfront but a little away, just over a bridge so peaceful ( and we didn't feel threatened at all as mentioned in other reviews) The lovely old house - our room had a terrace overlooking the garden/courtyard where we could chat with other travelers. The plunge pool - wonderfully refreshing.
we had no hot water in our room - problem with the boiler I think so I had to go to communal shower in the main building.
Location is great - near the Nautical Museum, just across the bridge from the centre of Punda.
Never managed to find hot water but then the cold water is luke warm here.

Steep staircase to room
Friendly staff Small hotel with nice rooms in good location downtown Willemstad. Was my second stay here and will come back!
You have to get used to the fact that the windows don't have glass, just shutters. This makes it very 'local' but doesn't do anything to keep the noise out.
Great Location, directly located in the center of Willemstad. Nice atmosphere. Good equipment for self-catering apartment.
The safe and the airco were not working properly throughout the whole stay.
I had a room in the inner yard, next to the vending machine, which was useful in urgent need for a beer. I liked the quiet place, cozy courtyard with a tiny but refreshing pool. I liked the location short walk from Punda and other district in wonderful Willemstad. Simple breakfast and even dinner possible to prepare in kitchenette. If you want breakfast, they can prepare it but I suggest walking to Plein Cafe Wilhelmina nearby. Easygoing place, nothing luxurious, but homy.
I am not disappointed in anything. Maybe internet was disconnecting often, but who cares, as you are on holiday! Location is nice but it would be nice if the blocs around the hotel would be renovated too, for a bit more secure feeling walking there, it is a bit dodgy, not necessarily dangerous. Some street girls seemed to work there at night.
Its an oke hotel with the basic stuff. Its walking distance from the centre of the city and easy to reach with a car.
the safe wasn't working and although it says in there is a gated parking lot, there is only 2 spots which are already taken by the workers. You have to leave your car outside on a very narrow street.
Old Dutch trader house, iguanas, friendliness of staff
Great central location. Super friendly and helpful staff. Thourough cleaning daily. Parking free and safe. Baby bed available for the little one. The pool was well suited both for just relaxing and for playing with kids (2+6 yrs); one shallow part and one deeper (1.4 m?), good shadow in pool mornings and afternoons and good shaded yard. Private shaded balcony.
Our two room appartment was on two floors with a steep stair to get up to the upper floor. I would have specified my booking to get a room without stairs next time. I was always nervous for the kids falling. I didn't ask to change, it might have been possible.
Had a fantastic stay here. The whole staff is incredibly lovely and very helpful. Rooms are fantastic.
The little garden!
The direct neighbourhood at night.
-Great location. -Nice backyard. -The lady in the reseption was really helpful.
-Very basic rooms. -No bedlight, for reading. -No stairs into the pool.
This is an old hotel in the old part of town with a lot of atmosphere and charm. The staff were tremendous and extremely helpful, even referring someone to provide personalize touring of the island. We ordered breadfast one morning and were very pleasantly surprised by the variety of breads and food on the tray. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Close to the daily market and walking bridges where you could sit and enjoy the ships passing by. This is not a luxury hotel, but is very reflective of the older parts of Curacao and would recommend it if you like the historic nature of an area.
There was construction going on which we woke to daily; however, ear plugs were provided at the front desk. The second night we used them.
The garden, the spacy and cosy room
The location, dark street, closed in street with empty buildings.a perfect place for robbery, can,t go anywhere.
Location Friendly staff and owner of the place Colonial style house Patio Welcoming feeling Great value for money
Great location right in front of floating markets. Friendly and helpful staff.
Parking spaces are very limited.
The hotel is an old building, a lot of exposed wood. Our room had a private balcony, very nice. The location was a short walk to the pedestrian bridge over the canal right to the center of Punda. The main harbor inlet and the pontoon bridge to Otrabanda Willemstad is a short walk. The garden area was quiet and relaxing, surrounded by climbing flowers and had a small pool about 5 feet deep. Song birds were in abundance. There was a grill/smoker available for guests, we didn't get a chance to try it. The fish market and floating markets are a block or two away, plenty of options for food. The hotel provided a very secure feeling, security was on sight and the fence gate was locked in the evenings with a key provided to guests. The reception staff was great. Very personable and accommodating. We had a problem with our airline and they assisted with calling the airline. The room, the deluxe queen, had a full kitchen, not that well equipped, but had a full refrigerator and coffee pot. This is not a deluxe hotel. The building is old. It is an attractive older building, a lot of character, charming. We loved the look and feel.
Scharloo, the area where the hotel is located, is a little run down. We were warned about possible confrontations, however, we had no problems. We did not venture out into Scharloo late at night. The kitchen had few pans and cooking utensils. The stove did not light, we had to use matches. I told the cleaning person about the stove, she said someone would look into it, that did not happen. There are no supplies to clean dishes, soap, wash cloth, etc. We rinsed the dishes where appropriate, cups, etc., and left the remainder in the sink, assuming the cleaning crew would take care of it. They were still in the sink after cleaning. I did not inquire about supplies.
Very helpful and friendly staff. The old restored building looks very nice, and a lot of work was put into making this into a hotel. Location is excellent, with easy pedestrian access to all the sights that Willemstad has to offer. The courtyard with pool is nice, and having a BBQ to use was a great added touch.
As an old building restored into a hotel, there can be some noise transference from the hallway into the rooms. Not a big deal however, as it was generally a very quiet place when we were there.
No aircondition, so you must sleep window open --> terrible disco beats nearby kept us awake from 23.00-04.00 through the nigh
Very good place to stay.
