"Cyprus Villages" was established in 1987 by Sofronis Potamitis, in an effort to revive rural communities and preserve the traditional houses of bygone days. With loving care, several abandoned and ruined family houses were thoroughly renovated to provide comfort without sacrificing their original, rustic character.
Special interest groups from abroad soon discovered the natural charm of these houses nestling in the tranquil countryside. A growing number of visitors now keeps these quaint villages alive, by offering the younger generations an additional source of income.
Accommodation: The lodgings are dispersed in different villages across the island. Each one of these villages has its distinct attractions and atmosphere, yet they all offer a heartfelt welcome to a lifestyle closely linked to nature and tradition.
"Cyprus Villages" offers you a choice of studios, 1 and 2-bedroom apartments with self-catering facilities in a well-equipped kitchenette, and central heating/air-conditioning upon request. Notice the thick walls, small windows, stone or wooden staircases so typical of our island’s architecture of yesteryear. On your veranda, patio or garden you can relax with a drink or a book any time of the day. In every village a swimming pool with sun beds is always within reach and reserved for our guests. Upon request, breakfast can be included in the terms of accommodation. In Tochni itself, our half board guests will enjoy the authentic traditional Cypriot dishes of our Tochni Taverna
"The Tochni Taverna"
Our Tochni Tavern is proud of its mouthwatering dishes, desserts and pastries. To enjoy authentic, traditional Cypriot cooking, a visit to the tavern is a must. Dinner is often accompanied by live music in true Cypriot style.
Bath or Shower , Fully equipped Kitchenette , Central Heating , Air-Condition Units , Colour TV , Hairdryer
Kalavasos Village Kalavasos is one of Tochni’s neighbouring villages, only 3 km away. The attractive village square is a place where residents and visitors mix and meet for a friendly chat in the shops, a drink in a coffee shop, or a meal in one of the traditional taverns. During the day, a swimming pool awaits our guests, and in the evenings, the stone-paved roads and mild temperatures will tempt you to stroll under the stars. A "Cyprus Villages" office is also nearby, ready to offer any assistance or information you might need.
Drapia Farm, a horse farm run by Marisa Potamiti, is located in a valley about 2 km outside the village of Kalavasos village. Surrounded by the lush greenery of orange groves, the farm is home to a total of 10 well-groomed Arabians, Appaloosas and thoroughbreds that can be ridden in western and English style. Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider, Drapia Farm offers you the unique opportunity to enjoy the Cypriot countryside on horseback. Riding lessons and one to 2 hour trails for beginners will introduce you to the wonderful experience of horse riding, in a most inspiring environment. More experienced riders can join us for half or full day tours as we ramble through a peaceful landscape dominated by fields and hills.
