Mariela Hotel Apartments  

Appartamento grandissimo per due persone, con terrazza, cucina attrezzata, ampia camera e comodo bagno. La spiaggia si raggiunge camminando 5 minuti, clima caldissimo nonostante fossero le settimane centrali di settembre. Fermata dell'autobus vicinissima, adiacente al centro dove si trovano molti ristoranti con eccellente rapporto qualità/prezzo. Da evidenziare l'estrema disponibilità del proprietario che ci ha assistito costantemente dandoci informazioni preziose. Raccomandato caldamente a tutti.

Friendly owners provide a nice welcome to a cheap and cheerful apart/hotel in a fair sized town with plenty of tavernas. The nearby beach rates an 'ok' but no more, the one at Latchi, a few kilometres away is better. The rooms are spacious and pleasant and give views of pool or distant sea and mountains. This is not a plush hotel so don't expect one but it has a certain charm.

A slight tiredness about the whole place, it could do with a bit of a spruce up. No one big thing to put you off, little things like a grubby bedspread, a dirty mug in the cupboard, perhaps we were just unlucky with those.

The staff were very friendly. Our two-room apartment was kept clean regularly, with regular towel and sheet change. The pool was clean. The apartment was basic but adequate. Most of the time you won't be in your apartment but at the beautiful beaches nearby. Supermarket with a very wide selection is nearby. Restaurants are at walking distance. The centre of Polis is very nice. Not too busy, good restaurants, friendly people. The surroundings are spectacular. A lot of unspoilt nature and some nice small villages. Not too many tourists. Thinking about that, I shouldn't give such a good review, just to keep it that way: unspoilt by mass tourism and quiet :-)

The apartment comes with absolutely no supplies. So for preparing a few meals on your own during your holiday you have to buy olive oil, salt, peper - the works. You won't use that all up. The pool was a bit too cold.

Very good value for money, and the owner of the place did a really good job making us feel as comfortable as possible, and offered us a lot of extra food/drinks from the house.

La atención ha sido inmejorable; incluso ofreció un refrigerio a la llegada!! Lo peor es que, aunque hay autobuses, no hay tantos como se quisiera. Lo mejor: alquilar una moto o coche (son baratos) y moverse con total libertad.

Der Gastgeber und seine Frau sind sehr herzliche Menschen, die dem Urlaub eine sehr familiäre Atmosphäre verleihen. Besonders angenehm waren wir von der Sauberkeit der Zimmer, speziell der Betten und Bettwäsche überrascht. Auch nach deutschen Maßstäben sehr sauber. Das Hotel und die Einrichtung sind zwar doch recht deutlich betagt, aber sauber. Die Lage in Polis ist gut, nach Akamas sind es keine 15 Minuten. Parkfläche aussen ist riesig, der Supermarkt in Gehdistanz. Das Hotel ist nicht sehr laut (zumindest bei unserem Raum Richtung Pool). Küche mit 2 Herdplatten, einem (recht leisen) Kühlschrank = gut.

Man ist informatorisch etwas abgeschnitten, da Fernsehen nur zypriotische Kanaläe hat (alle grieschisch, einer mit türk. Untertiteln). Kein großes Problem, aber man sollte es wissen. Der "Safe" ist eine angedübelte Stahlkassette am Boden eines Schranks. Für Papiere und Portemonaie ausreichend, für Kameras etc. aber nicht. Die Zimmertür könnte man wahrscheinlich auch leicht mit einer Kreditkarte aufmachen, aber wir hatten keinerlei Probleme. Haben die Wertsachen aber trotzdem immer mitgenommen.
