good and friendly staff overall.the beach boys are very organised and willing to assist with sunbeds and umbrellas. the people working in the spa are very professional. overpriced. rooms and corridors need renovation. for a 5 star hotel the sheets and blankets are terrible. pool bar/restaurant is too overpriced. paying over 30 euro for two salads and cokes, you expect i decent salad. being local i knew i would get ripped off but having a baby makes it hard to leave beach to go and get food. at least if you are going to overcharge offer the quality to match it. also night buffer at italian restaurant is overpriced for what it offers. also you need more sunbeds and umbrellas as during busy weekends they are not adequate

Hotel staff was very very friendly and helpful, the rooms were nice and comfortable Location was far from where we wanted to be the hotel was a little shabby and untidy, also not enough sun loungers on the beach we had to lay on towels a couple of days as there was no spare beds

Poolside area is okay. - I was given a very poor room that faced the main road and was as far as possible from the lift well. - My credit card was charged twice and the process of having this fixed took over 40 minutes.

The Amathus Beach is a recepy for relaxation. Beautifully designed, it has spacious, comfortable rooms, a prime beach location and very friendly staff. As a bonus, it features a spa with an array of treatments performed by very professional personnel. The entire design of the hotel makes you just don't want to go anywhere else. Personally I enjoyed the spa, the water sports on the beach and just reading by the pool while being waited on. The entire complex is designed for luxurious enjoyment. There is very little to really complain about, and the only disadvantage I found is a regular complaint that is common in many hotels, I.E. the public areas being used as a racing track for children. In this case, one notices this predominantly in the reception. The Amathus is, for better or worse, popular with families. I would recommend single travellers and couples to avoid the school holidays, but do come, as the hotel is too beautiful to just give it a miss because of this.

The staff were very friendly and courteous. Our room was just perfect for our holiday stay. The meals, especially the breakfast were first class and of a high quality. Your assistance in helping us in a medical emergency, especially in the middle of the night was most appreciated.

The grounds and pools were lovely. The buffet breakfast was high quality and included champagne for those so incliined The spa was being refurbished, the jacuzzi was closed as was the hamman. This was not raised during our booking on the website or subsequently,The hotel is designed for half board and we ate once at the buffet and it was £34 euros per head for myself but also my 13 year old daughter which was exorbitant, All prices were expensive especially tea at 3.90. The room was not cleaned properly and we run out of tea/coffee (only drinking one of each per day!!). Some more was brought but the cups were never washed up and then when we ran out of tea again it was not replenished.

In winter the spa need a hot tub. The indoor pool still felt a bit cold. Food and room service excellent and all staff very professional. Now that everyone has IPad the rooms need wifi . I did enjoy however sitting in the lobby to use this facility. I have bee coming to Cyprus for 40 years and my favourite is still the Amathus ! Back soon (19th) feb.

The room was really nice, there was a bottle of champagne and fruits in the room when we arrived. Also there is coffee and tea available in the room for free, and the mini bar has a lot of choices. In the afternoon they left as a small chocolate on our bed. Very sweet small details. Also you should try there ice cream and desserts!!

Our second stay at the amathus, what a lovely hotel. Nothing is to much trouble from checking in to checking out. Beatiful pool area, comfy rooms, every time you left it a maid came in, changed towels or turned down your bed. Breakfast has a good choice with tea and coffee in silver pots brought to your table. Bar area are great, even with 2 happy gours. Who could ask for more.

Excellent location, clean rooms, friendly staff (it was a pleasant surprise that we could communicate in greek) and a few extra points for the Aziachi restaurant. Too much noise at the breakfast venue.
