Stratos House16, 1st April, 7733 Kalavasos (Show map) Excellent, Score from 56 reviews“We were made very welcome from the time we entered to the moment we left. The room was beautiful, a great terrace to sit and eat, or sip the complimentary bottle of wine!! Thanks! There was coffee, tea, oil, sugar etc all supplied... and this was a very nice thought. The Stratos House and the town of Kalavasos are both gems that we felt grateful to find and experience! A truly authentic and relaxing way to experience Cyprus. Affordable, very relaxing. Good quaint restaurants just down the narrow stone streets. We felt very cared for and welcomed by the family that have lived there for many generations. Highly recommended!!!

Very quiet in small village. Cosy interior in old typical Cyprian house and complete with satelite tv,small kitchen. Nearby great local restaurant with great atmosphere to experience Crycian country live. parking is a bit diffecult. No view from room, but outside terrace under the vines available.

Very restful location, away from tourism. Represents the feeling of vacation. Although the host didn't speak any English, she tried to make us feel as comfortable as possible.

Nice Room design and clean. Proper old cottage. No staff to welcome you. Just one lady there and she knows no word in english. So we couldnt comminate and no telephone to contact anyone in the case of emergency. Although we paid for breakfast, the small cafe was closed and we werent served anything. Therefore our 12 euro went absouletly for nothing. Although it is mentioned that free parking, there is no parking area belong to the house.

Very authentic - mirrored the houses I used to stay at in the Greek islands 40 years ago before tourism took it's toll. You were living in a 'real' home and couldn't but help fall into a very relaxed lifestyle for the duration of your stay. George & Eleni were excellent hosts, extremely hospitable. George was good enough to give up his own time to have long conversations with you. Excellent English & French (and it wouldn't surprise me if he spoke a few other languages as well). Village was small and very traditional. Nearest restaurant (40m) was the type that still invited you into the kitchen to show what they had cooked. Location was brilliant if you enjoyed driving, a very easy dash to get on to the Larnica/Limasol motorway. And to cap off my trip, Scotland even managed to beat Cyprus 2-1 - result!

Loved kalavasos and Stratos House! Ths family were lovely and very hospitable! The Internet service was great even considering the thick stone walls! Best to have a car or take cash as the beach and archaeology sites are not walkable and cash machine out of town. Just to be aware!! Loved my time would go back for sure!!

After years of travel I have at last found somewhere deserving of the description Heaven. The most fabulous place in the most charming and friendly village with plenty of amenities (Tavernas)! First to dispel some earlier comments by reviewers. The owner, Elenor, speaks perfect English, she was in hospital earlier in the year having a baby that's why no one spoke English. Elenor sends guests spot on directions to find the house, no problem. Our shower worked perfectly. There are beaches within about 15 minutes drive if you can tear your self away from Kalavasos. Do go to Stratos House and sample real Cyprus, it's amazing.

The location was excellent for visiting all parts of southern Cyprus. Our hostess was extremely nice and helpful, and her mother even provided snacks for us. The room was comfortable, and the kitchenette proved quite useful for breakfast. Wi-fi was available with a strong signal. The town of Kalavasos was very pretty and the people were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The local restaurants provided very good and plentiful food. A car is essential to enjoy Stratos House, but there was plenty of available public parking in the town. Reading lights in the bedroom were dim, but excellent in the kitchenette. Otherwise, it was a wonderful place to stay.

I liked the house, the enviroment, the village. The housekeeper lady was very kind, she always came to have a talk with us, brouhgt cafe or other, but she spoke only Greek. English spoken was possible through phone with her daughter in Greece. Wifi was not working (after 2 days trying for 1 day only), the shower was fast unusable, there were only Greek chanels on the TV. We did not need it in February, but there is no swimming pool on site, we found one public village pool 2 streets higher.

A great charming place to stay! The rooms are large and very clean and comfortable. The owners are fantastic and had wine and crackers waiting for us. A wonderful place to go. The food in the village is also fabulous! Be careful when parking. It might be better to park in one of the official village lots and walk to the house, as the streets are very narrow.

The owners are the nicest accomodation owners we have met over all the years of our travels and the accomodation was very clean and filled with character and romance. The village is scenic and all the people we had contact with were very friendly to us as tourists in their village. Can't recommend Stratos House enough!!

Ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet. Full amenities and friendly staff. Rich breakfast although served outside the hotel facilities. There is really nothing to dislike but only two minor things to mention. 1) A bit hard to locate but villagers were very helpful. 2)There is no parking available but there is a free car park within walking distance.

Clean, neat, romantic getaway in a traditional Cypriot village. The village itself though rahter quiet is also very tourist friendly. The room included a fully equipped kitchen (it was in fact an appartment). Communication with owners hardly possible only in Greek - knowledge of English or any other major language would be appreciated.
