눉No bad experiences, just sorry the holiday had to end!
눇The apartment was lovely, in a quiet area but easily walkable to tourist areas, and public transport. There is a small supermarket less than 5 mins away, as well as several good restaurants. There's the St Agnes Convent across the road, which is the medieval art part of the National Gallery.
The terrace upstairs we hadn't expected to use much, but actually we ended up with a routine every evening of taking a few beers and snacks up there, and watching the sunset, before heading out to dinner. I wouldn't say the views were outstanding, compared with general views in Prague, but we enjoyed watching over the rooftops to the park across the river. You can just see the giant metronome.
The apartment itself was very generous amount of space for two people, but might be cozy with four. There's lots of really nice things that just worked in the apartment, for example the little carry tray was right there when you're looking for something to put your drinks and books into, before heading out to the terrace .
The owner, Vaclav, was super helpful. He announced several times that his English was not good, but actually we had no problem understanding him or explaining what we wanted when we met in person. Crucially, he kept us well supplied with Nespresso pods. He also clearly takes good care of the apartments. He's happy to do collection and drops to the airport for a very reasonable price.
When considering the price, do also take into account that day to day costs will be much less than a hotel, as you will find you probably don't need to go out for breakfast, lunch, or early evening drinks, as you will be wanting those in the apartment (from very inexpensive shop-bought things), rather than paying for them in a hotel or restaurant.
Felt very well rested during this trip, and miss this lovely Prague apartment!
