Ambassador Zlata Husa

The main pleasure were mattress and pillow - it was something inbelivable! I slept very well (except elevator noise in the morning). And of course location. Walking distance from anywhere, the very center of all city motion. Also I never ate such tasty Tiramisu as in Lobby bar and their sparkling wine Ambassador Selection Brut was very good.

The main things: very old terrifying hair-dryer and loud howling noise of elevator engine in room beginning at 7 a.m. (it seems that the elevator was located in next building, because I lived in Zlata Husa, number 450, next to wall of my room was another building). And maybe very undifferent breakfast every day (two kinds od omelet, fryed eggs, boiled eggs, egg salad, I still can't eat eggs). All the rest - good to best.

The staff was efficient, friendly and most helpful. The room was excellent -- spacious, with a view, clean and comfortable. Location is great!

The room was large and comfortable, all the amenities were satisfactory. The position is central with very good connection (two underground lines) . Good starting point for a walk in the old town.

I booked a rate in Euro but I paid I in czk . The change applied is around > 8-10% than what expected. Be prepared for that. I asked for a "no smoking room" but when I entered in the room, the smell of smoke was hard to bear.

Helpful Staff, Location, Facilities, Rooms

The staff were excellent - very helpful and they spoke English. The restuarant was not busy but the food was excellent and very good value for money. very good buffet breakfast. the location was excellent.

The room we were given did not have air con and it was very warm and stuffy, especially at night with the curtains closed. We had to open the window and then we were kept awake most of the night with the noise from the street (as our room was on the main road!). The bed was very hard and uncomfortable and the sheets were rough on the skin. I would advise people to ask to be moved if staying in the older part of the hotel.

Hotel at walking distance of the old town. Overall a very pleasant stay in a nice old hotel with all the necessary facilities available.

good atmosphere and hospitality, comfort and polite personnel

This hotel is very well positioned for sightseeing in Prague with many attractions of the city within easy walking distance and Metro and tram stops within a couple of minutes walk. The breakfast was of a high standard for Prague (where I have found the standard to be low in other hotels) I particularly liked the facility for freshly cooked omelettes and pancakes. The receptionists at the front desk were helpful and informative. This was my second stay at this hotel and I will book it again for my next trip.

It is sometimes a bit noisy at night with sounds from the revellers in the street in Wenceslas Square drifting up. However I was on the third floor and still managed to get to sleep. I was appalled to be charged 260 krona for two tiny plastic bottles of water (nearly £9) from the mini bar. I think that this needs to be addressed as I felt ripped off and this was the only negative thing in my holiday.
