Fantastic location. Helpful staff. Good breakfast. Modern spacious rooms.
No fitness facility
Location - as best you can get. Staff - very polite and helpful.
Heating - In our first room the heating wasn't working properly.
Building, accommodation and location.
Staff and services not four star. Stayed for a week; second day cleaning staff threw out my food and drinks; breakfast and room service food cold, orders not correct and without appropriate utensils(cheese platter without a knife); airport transfer was arranged for wrong morning and staff smirked and laughed amongst each other and made me feel it was my fault; two lifts but only one in use, very slow.
no need to be afraid. This hotel is one of the best. The location is excellent, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was good. The bath was so big and everything was very clean. A lot of room for clothes and available tea and coffee in the room. Staff was really nice, always helpful. Fast wifi everywhere in the hotel.
When we first got to the hotel, we were given a quite small room, and the worst thing - you could see from the bedroom the bath and vise versa. This was horrible, we are two sisters and we needed to hide every time one of us wanted to shower. However, the same day we talked with the receptionist and got with no problems or questions at all a beautiful room, bigger and with a door to the bath. So it's not really that bad, but just uncomfortable that we needed to change.
Excellent hotel, really liked the room, location and breakfasts. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Traffic noise early in the morning!
The room I was given was not as I was told and seems below par compared to other room. Very dissap
My check-in experience with the reception staff was very pleasant after a tough travel experience to Prague and upon my check-out the same staff member was dealing with awkward customers and handled it very well and then did the same when I checked out.
Although the staff member handled things excellently it was clear that at least a 2nd staff member was needed at the front desk. This should be obvious around check-out time of midday.
Upgrade after complaint
Junior suite was cramped and very badly designed. Couldn't walk round bed. Couldn't easily get into toilet etc. Breakfast very poor and every day had to go looking for chef. Juices either tasteless or too strong. Cooked food cold - ugh! Major staff problems who were unhelpful at best.
The location is excellent staff friendly
The area to much crowded
We loved the decor of the hotel and it was in an excellent location. The delux room was huge and the bed was very comfortable.
Our friends stayed in the penthouse and didn't get wifi service, so beware if you need wifi in your room!
Very nice and preserved interior. Great location. Very spacious rooms. By far, the best mattress ever.
A bit pricey. There are a number of better hotel options in the area. Limited and boring breakfast. Wifi connection varied across the room.
No wifi in the room.
Atmosphere, courtesy, perceived quality
the location ( you can not ask for anything better ) friendly staff cleanliness the value for money
nothing... or maybe the lack of room view, although with such features, you don't need a view. you can jump in the heart of prague's old town center as soon you step out of the hotel
Great place, great breakfast.
Valet parking - needed much longer to return the car as promised.
Location was excellent in the Old Town with plenty of restaurants within easy reach. Internet access fast.
While cleanliness was good,it was obvious that the cupboard housing the Fridge had not been dusted inside for some time. Service at the outside cafe was sometimes slow.
Location is the best in the best. Walking distance everywhere. Between Old Town Square and Powder Tower (110 meters away). At the end of Celetná st., so less crowds and noises. The entrance at the other side leads to quiet streets and Tyn Church where you can find restaurants and mini-markets. A nice surprise we were upgraded to a huge Junior Suite with a view of Tyn Church and the quiet streets. High ceilings. Comfy beds and coach. Friendly front desk staff. The security, David, was helpful and had a light sense of humor. The booking service was responsive and thoughtful. We are extremely happy with our choice of staying in this hotel.
Just a little wish that TV screen could be bigger and HD sports channel could be available as FIFA Worldcup went to quarter-finals during our stay. That's all.
It was comfortable.
All around a fantastic experience. Great location!
Ideal location if you want to stay in Old Town Prague. Helpful staff. Very nice breakfast. We had a large room that was clean and comfortable. The wifi, however, was not adequate for our requirements as we write a travel blog and need to have reasonable speeds to upload a few photos and some text every night. When we arrived it was good, but 24 hours later it was barely working. Staff had no explanation for the slow down. We’ve been to Prague several times before and stayed on the other side of the river, but we thought this time it would be nice to be in the heart of Old Town. There are advantages to this (close to many noted tourist sites), but the disadvantage is the crowds of tourists that make walking around much less fun (this was in May). Also, getting in and out by car/taxi can take extra time due to the slow movement of traffic on the very narrow streets. But if you are a tourist, as we were, you can’t really complain about other tourists. If we stay again in Old Town Prague we will definitely return to Barcelo Old Town as the hotel itself was, overall, excellent.
No negatives other than the wifi slowdown.
We visited the hotel for our tenth wedding anniversary. The hotel made the weekend extra special by upgrading our room.
Free room upgrade without asking. Omelettes at breakfast
The coffee and orange juice at breakfast time were not good
Very kind staff Very comfortable and big room Very very quiet, no noise from outside or from other rooms You can stay in the room as long as you want in the morning and nobody disturbs Reception and services all the night
Breakfast Courtyard The room on split level
Staff chatting & customers waiting
Very nice location, best place for sight seeing. Taxi can stop in front of the hotel, even thought most of hotels in old town is not possible to do so. very helpful staffs.
