Guesthouse Kaliště is a former country house, completely renovated and adjusted especially for families with children wanting to escape tourist crowds.

If you desire to hide from the busy overcrowded holiday resorts, visit this guesthouse in the mountains of South Bohemia. Experience the simple way of life in the Czech Republic but enjoy comfortable and welcoming accommodation.

Located on the beautiful Sumava Mountains, above the town of Dolni Dvoriste, this hotel is ideal for fresh air, amazing unspoilt views, and the chance to stretch out on long, undisturbed walks. In the summer you can walk, fish, spend a day mountain biking, and play a number of sports. In winter, ski or snowboard in the mountains. The picturesque town of Cesky Krumlov offers shopping, cultural sights and pretty bars and restaurants.

Hotel information

The Guesthouse has 10 apartments, provided with one or more bedrooms, a hall and private sanitary facilities with a toilet, bath and/or shower. There is also 1 apartment which has, besides the sanitary facilities, a private kitchen.
Besides, Kaliste has a genial bar, a pleasant breakfast room and a cosy restaurant which caters for 50 persons.

Food & beverage

A rich buffet breakfast awaits you in the Guesthouse Kaliste. You will find Czech rolls, fresh croissants, coffee, tea, orange and apple juice, and milk, as well as different yoghurts, cornflakes, various spreads and other fresh products.

We can prepare a lunchbox for you during breakfast consisting of sandwiches, yoghurt, fruits, juices and a bottle of water.

In the evening we offer you a 3-course-menu of Czech dishes with a Dutch touch. Let yourself be surprised every day by a lovingly and carefully prepared first course, a main dish and dessert, followed by coffee or tea.

Special requirements, such as vegetarian dishes, will of course be accommodated.

During low season the restaurant has limited opening hours.

Room information

The bright and spacious rooms dispose of an en suite bathroom and floor heating. The rooms are equipped with antiques and authentic Czech furniture.

Area information

The mountainous area of Sumava, with its beautiful protected nature, offers possibilities for walking and relaxing. To the east lies Trebonsko, a beautiful area with fishing ponds which were layed out in the Middle Ages and just like lake Lipno still provides the favourite Bohemian fish: the carp, every year.
