Fabulous staff with excellent friendly reception, superb waiters and efficient room service. They really make you feel welcome Nd that no service is too much. Hotel was lovely and quiet whilst breakfast was excellent. Really good free wifi throughout

No pool, gym or out door space and 17 Euros an hour for the Sauna seemed a bit excessive.

I cannot fault this hotel - everything was perfect. The staff are exceptional and good place to be based for sightseeing.

We liked that the hotel is smaller offering privacy, peaceful and home atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly, I recommend it esp. for couples who want to spend a romantic time in Prague. I loved the design of hotel, I am not much into modern style and this was as a soul of Prague. Also to reach the destination by car is easy.

The position of hotel is little far from main sights but at least we have not been so lazy and walked a bit :-)

I have stayed at quite a few hotels, but very few are as good as this one--it was a real gem! The entire staff will do anything to make your stay enjoyable as they did ours. The location was perfect with restaurants, metro, and proximity to important locations such as the police station--it is very safe. Great Shower and facilities, the breakfasts and dinner were very delicious with top-notch ingredients. Free Wifi and laptop--I can't say enough about how great this hotel is! Thanks staff of Hotel General!

Nothing, it was really perfect.

The best top end value for money that we have spent on our European trip. Great Rooms. Meals, bar and 5 minutes to the metro / tram station Pay goods money and you get the best. We were in the Emperor Caesar room.

Sauna not free. Food was mediocre at best. Bedding, specifically blankets, were odd and too small

the welcome and advice about the city. The service was friendly and high class. All the staff we fantastic. We went to visit Prague but one of the highlights was the Hotel itself.

You have to pay for the sauna and give 2 hrs notice

The rooms do not offer the best sound isolation. You could clearly hear bare conversations next room.

The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble, they are proud of the hotel and very keen to give the best possible service to their guests.On entering the hotel the reception area was magnificently lite with shining crystal chandeliers and we were greeted at the reception with a welcoming glass of wine and an excellent briefing on the hotel and the city of Prague. In the dining room the staff were also excellent and very knowledgable on available wines and the food was of a good standard. I would strongly recommend this hotel to friends and family members.

Top notch service staff makes this hotel very special. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful making our stay a memorable one. The rooms are cosy and nicely decorated. The location is also ideal, away from the city buzz but just 10 mins walk to the nearest tram/ train station. A hotel that is worth many stars!

Goods: excellent hotel, acceptable breakfast, good speed internet, best part is the staff Hotel staffs try their best to help you and assist you. For example my luggage by air France was missing (I think it is not that unusual there) they copied my luggage missing receipt and voluntary called the airline on my behalf to get update. I call this excellent service I recommend this hotel without any hesitation and I will go back….

Cons: generally rooms are small (but you are in Europe), avoid getting rooms on last floor (4th floor. Because of the attic its feels even smaller. The location is not close to the tourist area but not far…

Staying at Hotel General was one of my favorite hotel experiences ever! The hotel staff was amazingly friendly and truly wanted to make our experience the best it can be. The decorations and atmosphere was authentically baroque; attention was paid to every detail. The breakfast was awesome and served by the butlers in white gloves. They made us feel so special! Hotel General is a couple blocks from the underground metro and above ground tram. Make sure you reserve your parking space for a unique experience ;) The front desk is very helpful in suggesting where to go and what to do and made great reservations for us for dinner. I'd stay there again, anytime! It's a small hotel with the professionalism unmatched by any hotel chain. Stay there!

Stayed at Hotel General for three nights and without any doubt, this hotel is the best I've ever experienced. As many have already stated the hotel is easily "5 stars plus" in terms of the facility, quality of the furnishings, bed and the fabulous breakfast provided, however, for me the attention, professionalism and friendliness of the staff is what makes this one of the truely great hotels in Europe, and the thing which I will remember most about my stay. Over the three nights we were there there was not one staff member I was not highly impressed with. However I cannot let this opportunity past without mentioning the manager (unsure his name) Abraham and Michael in particular for thir help, dedication to ensuring our stay was perfect and their attentiveness. All in all a thoroughly pleasant experience. The hotel is about 30 minutes leisurely walk to Old Town, Castle District and New town along the riverside , but also easily accessed by metro train or tram which is about 5 minutes walk. I also need to comment on something which most reviewers have overlooked, and that is the quality of the dining room for an evening meal. Food is first rate, service "top class" and very reasonable prices, nothing like you might expect in a 5 Star hotel. Main meals selecting from the "weekly offering" at 350 CZK (approx 15 euro) is not to be missed. Try this at a Hilton / Four Seasons and you'd be up for 30 euros minimum with snooty service.

Beautiful hotel, very accommodating staff and great breakfast buffet.

The staff at this hotel are fantastic. So friendly and helpful, could not do enough and a lot of them remembered your name which I thought was impressive. Definitely the highlight of the hotel is the staff on reception and the friendly guys in the breakfast room. I didnt see any of the other rooms but the single room was still very spacious, I was quite impressed with the size of the room and the bathroom is fantastic.

While I was very happy there, I'm not sure I would rate it as a 5 star property, more like a 4 star. In that case, I think it was slightly overpriced. The location is ok, about 30 minutes walk to the old town which is an easy flat walk along the river. Quiet location so good for sleeping. Close to train & trams and shops. But the street itself has a bit of a deserted feel so I tried to avoid walking at night as a solo female traveller. Im sure its actually totally fine, more just gives an uneasy feeling.
