Designed by the famous architect Antonin Blazek in 1893 and extended in Art-Nouveau style in 1902, the Slavia hotel enjoys a central location right below Spilberk Castle.
Score from 626 reviews Good
I liked the staff who were professional and welcoming. I liked the luxurious feel of the hotel and its central location. The room was spotlessly clean. The contents of the room fridge were included in the cost and were not an added extra. I intend to stay in this hotel again as I will be staying in Brno regularly in the forseeable future.
position, clean, comfort, tv, mini bar
Location was excellent and hotel was easy to use as a focal point to visit most places in the town
construction at the entrance to the hotel in the square limited the access to the hotel. Once construction is done, it will be very pleasant
Free mini bar, style of design, big and modern tv, grat and friendly staff (including help with parking!), breakfast, localization
Quite complicated way of getting there - but it is going to be fixed when repeir of the town centre ends
Staff is very friendly. Very polite and helpful. Perfect location in the city center.
Nice staff clean hotel full of character and great location
very welcome reception and well equiped room
the central square under reconstruction
Decor, restaurant had excellent dishes, view across the square. I will return.
Shower head. Impossible to select shower head and it was only at chest height! Pity but should replace those tap units...
Situated in th heart of Brno, not only is the hotel attarction itself, but it's also quite near all other attractions in Brno. And by 'near', I mean, minutes away .... the facility is excellent, the room and the bed are spacious, the bathroom is grat also ... And the VIEW!!!
Lovely size room with a huge bed and spotless bathroom. The room was serviced daily and individual requests for a kettle and more pillows were met quickly. I was quite unwell with a cold during my stay and the hotel allowed my husband to bring me up breakfast to the room. They also arranged taxis for us. On our final day our flight was not until 9:20pm, we asked the hotel if we could stay in the room until 7. They allowed us to do so without additional charge which was really helpful. Really recommend a stay here if you are travelling to Brno.
The only thing we found was the limited choice in the restaurant. I'm sure if you're a real foody that it would be fine. For those of us who just want simple food it's not so good. It would have been nice to have a wider variety of foods in the room service choices.
Upgrade to suite. Nice Center location Currently is the square Center under construction but call the hotel and they will sent a person to park your car
Restaurant is great. Cozy feeling for breakfast and modest selection of high quality food nicely set up. Service during dinner is excellent.
Really interesting decor - great building
Square outside is a building site
Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Very nice rooms and big bathroom.
Bed was a bit hard
A lovely art-deco hotel in the centre of Brno. Nice and helpful staff. Good rates. Excellent bathrooms and wifi. Very comfortable beds. Great breakfast, lovely cafe downstairs. Couldn't fault it!
At date of staying, the square in front of the hotel was all dug up, it didn't affect our stay, but good to know before you go!
Room was huge and very comfortable. Free mini bar and large flat screen TV was nice.Staff very pleasant and in a great location, a short walk to both train and bus station.
Major work in the square spoiled our view but as there was very little noise wasn't really a problem.
This is a top shelf hotel with great service, fantastic hotel lobby Italian restaurant and relaxing setting. The bathroom was all marble and had a powerful warm shower that was well appreciated.
The bed was a little hard for my tastes, but I find this typically European. The only truly bad thing was that it sits on the main courtyard that is totally being torn up and a major construction zone. Maybe by March this will no longer be an issue. The staff went out of there way to help me with the car and were very prompt in retrieving it at the time I asked for it
the square is under reconstruction hard to arrive by car to hotel
This hotel was one of the best hotel experiences we have had. The hotel is lovely with double insulated windows for a quiet night. The location is perfect and will be even better when the square in front is completed. The restaurant served exceptional food at dinner. Breakfast could have been more organized, but it was adequate. We loved the large bed and the top and bottom sheet. The bedding was the best we experienced in 23 nights. The bathroom was large and very pretty. Toilitries are excellent, towels nice, robe provided, safe. I almost forgot that the mini bar was completely complimentary. A glass of sparkling is available at check in. The staff were excellent and very helpful. It is all about finesse and this hotel has it all.
the location and the hotel itself.
the building work outside resulting in NO parking and difficulty actually getting to the hotel.
Good wifi signal (not perfect) Large, clean rooms Free mini-bar in the room Friendly staff
Noisy (due to the construction yard outside) Opening the windows is messy due to construction defect
Stayed here with a group of friends for 1 night, very polite and efficient reception staff, good sized rooms and nice and clean.
Breakfast staff didn't smile.
BUILDING WORKS OUTSIDE
In preparing the visit, we had great support and feedback from the hotel, f.e. with finding a good train ticket to Budapest. The hotel is located really well. It was nice that someone from the hotel parked our car for us voluntarily. Breakfast was good.
We arrived at the hotel tired and with some urgent questions. We were helped by a young lady who 'answered' our questions without really hearing them, which was a very frustrating experience. She also kept 'assuring' us our train ticket was OK, even when there was reason to think it wasn't. In the end at the train station we found out the ticket wasn't OK. It's a complicated story, but anyway we were astonished by the miscommunication with this lady. All others were OK.
Very nice staff, nice rooms and a great breakfast
Currently there is construction outside which will still be going onwards until Oct/ Nov 2014 so you should ask for a quite room if you mind a bit of noise.
