눉Ring a buzzer to enter the building, then walk up the stairs where the reception is at the next floor. Lucky we had just a small backpack and no additional luggage, definitely not suitable if you have several luggages to carry on the stairs.
The breakfast is very ordinary (if not to say it's bad) and it could be better if providing better foods. I would rather being cheap and asking discounts for not taking breakfast with such bad quality.
The furniture are similar to those of from Italy's average 2 or 3 Star hotels, but with a little bit more run down stage, which doesn't bother me much as I'm staying just for sleeping after the full day out sightseeing.
The TV is too small, and it looks just like a computer monitor on the desk, having just one channel to see. But I'm not here to watch TV, so it doesn't bother me at all except a bit supprised for this kind of thing.
There is no minibar, but there is a food basket (with costs labeled) in the room. I buy a large water bottle for about 1Euro at near by store.
No toothbrush and other essential stuffs available in the bathroom, but shampoo and hairdryer are there (I guess it is quite common in Slovakia and Czech?). I almost always bring my own toiletry kit when traveling, so it wasn't an issue for me.
Nonetheless, I won't complaint for less than Eur 45/night right in the city center, and just next to almost all the major attractions and restaurants. I would consider to stay here again provided that I visit with just small bag like this time.
눇Just right in the old town center.
Easy to reach by public transport; take the red line from main train station to Muzeum station (one stop), then change to green line, another one stop from Muzeum station and then a few minutes walk to the hotel.
(I didn't manage to notice about the red line connection earlier and instead walked towards the Muzeum station from the main train station as I coudln't ask anybody in the train station... but it was good sight as I could glance at the opera house and the national museum on the way.)
The hotel is closed to many the attractions, shops, and restaurants. The price is acceptable for the facilities vs. the location even though it could be higher if that's a proper hotel type and facilities (or if that would be in other major european city).
Some of the bad reviews here made me a bit worried. But after staying here, I won't be complaining for around Eur 45/night with acceptable room (not spacious, but definitely not small room) just right in the center of the old town next to everything. Definetly will consider staying again next time unless i've got better deals from other hotels in the same neighborhood.
