Sokolska is a very loud street, but the courtyard side is very quiet. You are close to both the historic center and the main railroad station (it's an easy enough walk for anyone who is even moderately fit). The rooms are huge and have very nice hardwood floors and huge windows. You even have a kitchenette in most rooms as well as a good table. The staff are very nice and very helpful. In terms of value, Select cannot be beat. Select is not a luxury hotel but Select does offer really good spacious rooms near the center of town at very good rates. You do have to bring your own internet though for the moment, as the wifi definitely does not work by floor three. On the downside, the weekend we were there, the curtains had been sent out for cleaning without any replacements. In some of the rooms, without curtains, there was very little privacy. My door showed the signs of violent break-in (in the distant past I was told). Leaving visible traces of break-in is an encouragement to future criminals and disturbing to new clients. For breakfast there was no fruits or vegetables and the "juice" was not real fruit juice. Even the coffee from the coffee machine was powdered and not ground. They did have great pastries though. The showers were also a disappointment as they are barely large enough for a large man to use. Many hotels in Prague though seem to use the same small plastic shower stalls and Hotel Select is no worse than the others. The internet is terrible and Select should fix it immediately. A rather weak connection is shared through the whole hotel with a router on each floor. But the routers bridge wirelessly so by the time you get to the fourth floor, your connection is going through four separate wireless connections to get to the external connection. Speeds like 1 kb/sec are a result. What Select need to do is run ethernet to each floor (a separate cable for each floor, i.e. 5 cables!) from a central router and upgrade their main connection. As there is an elevator, these cables would not be too difficult to install in the elevator shaft. The routers could be mounted high up on a wall on the target floor. They may be able to get away with a single router for two floors if Select buy the right dual antenna routers, reducing the cables to two.

This is a comfortable, clean and friendly hotel within walking distance of all the lovely places to see. Breakfasts are lovely with selections of cold meats and cheese, fruit, cereals, rolls etc. Our room was facing the courtyard and it was quiet and peaceful with comfortable beds and a small cooking area which is useful with a kettle and sufficient utensils and dishes, also a sink and fridge. There is a handy local supermarket just round the corner. There is a particularly good restaurant/brewery a few blocks away, good food and beer and good prices. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

Flexibility and responsiveness of reception personnel - see below. I was first given a room on the 3rd floor with an air conditioner straight under the window - its noise made it impossible to sleep. However the receptionist was flexible and responsive to change the room to a more quiet one. Breakfast was served late. The coffee machine was not on by the time of breakfast start - I had to wait about 15 minutes before I could get some coffee / hot water. Breakfast assortment is very narrow, e.g. even boiled eggs were not available.

We were upgraded even though we booked a 3 bedded room as we had 3 young kids. Near to Underground/city transport/ Suite was comfortable for kids. Had cooking facilities/ Breakfast was good. Parking was difficult. Had to pay 12 Euros per day in another hotel next door. (100 meters away) One of the hotel staff was helpful but was rude and impatient. The others were helpful and kind

Dobrá poloha hotela - neďaleko stanice metra I.P.Pavlova. Good lokacion - close to metro station I.P.Pavlova. Slabý výber jedál na raňajky. Hotel okrem ubytovania a raňajok nesposkytuje žiadne iné služby. Hotel pri rezervácií platobnou kartou cez booking šťahuje vopred platby za ubytovanie. Poor choice of foods for breakfast. Hotel accommodation and breakfast except there are no other services. Hotel bookings for credit card booking over the moves in advance payment for accommodation.

The rooms were very nice and comfortable. The hotel is placed between the old city and the new city, which is very good for sightseeing in both. The receptionist was very friendly and the whole experience in Hotel Residence was excellent. The room was not very sound-proof, and the Wi-Fi had some problems.

The hotel is very nice with spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff is polite and helpful. It is very close to wensceslas-the central square-and to the pavlova metro station,on foot.Breakfast hasn't got a big variety but,it is,still, just fine. The room service was inadequate and as a result, sheets and towels weren't changed every day.The room we were given wasn't of those ones in the photos, nevertheless,it was nice and comfortable.
