Set in a historic castle from the 14th century, Penzion Hrad is located 1 kilometre from the centre of Frýdek-Mistek. Guests can enjoy medieval-style rooms with a fireplace. All rooms at Penzion Hrad feature a four-poster bed and large windows. A private bathroom and a seating area are also available. The restaurant is set in the medieval dining hall with vaulted ceilings. Traditional Czech dishes and barbecue specialities are served there. Very friendly staff ( communication in English a little difficult at times!) Atmosphere and authenticity absolutely fabulous. Unfortunately we felt a little unsafe due to lack of "western" safety standards: Uneven stairs in pitch dark; heavy permanently locked doors with difficult keys; no secondary fire escape - wooden building with open candle lighting. Only one coat hanger per room! Beautiful modern bathroom - but no shelf or hooks - nowhere to put anything!

Neobvyklé prostředí, vynikající nápad se stylem středověkého hradu. Vynikající dobové repliky. Velmi chutná jíidla (zejména ta připravovaná na ohni grilu v restauraci. Ochotná a milá obsluha. Jidlo mi udělali doslova několik minut před zavírací dobou. Snídaně je možná podle dohody. Cena snídaně není zapoočítána do ceny ubytování, což dělá problém při vyúčtování pracovní cesty.

Krb a atmosféra - proto bylo toto místo vybráno Tmavá místnost - restaurace. Málo světla - přítmí ve všech místnostech
