Breakfeast was terrible.
The rooms were tastefully decorated, especially the dining room. Furniture was very homely...more like living in an expensive house and yet very comfortable. The 'office' staff were always extremely helpful and other staff were courteous did their work well.
The dress of the dining room staff did not seem appropriate for the elegant surroundings. Not meaning they should dress in period costume because it would be inappropriate, but slacks/skirt and nice blouse would help.
fine breakfast, fine interior, great location - near the most famous places
The room we were allocated after one night was very good with a roof terrace and air conditiioning, but we found out that it had been available all the time!! We decided to stay as we would have lost money by leaving.
We were forced to spend the first night in a room which was huge, completely bare and very noisy from street noise with a thick carpet and no air conditioning on a very hot night. It bore no resemblance to any rooms seen on the website. When we asked for a fan we were told there wasn't one - but later when the evening receptionist came he found us one very easily. We spent the first afternoon in Prague looking for another hotel room!
Clean, efficient staff, all-you-can-eat breakfast included, fast wi-fi, great value for money, central location to old town, secure, great bathroom, hot shower with strong water flow, marble floors. Overall excellent value.
Only downside was noise from the street outside of revelers returning from the pubs and clubs in the early hours. No big deal really.
the spacious room with balcony and in the heart of the city
Location is very good. Great view to old town.
Excellent location - five minutes from the Market Square. Breakfast, though a bit boring, fresh and tasty.
No aircondition, room temp. app. 27 C. Refrigerator was terribly dirty on the day of our arrival, the next day it was cleaned up. Something wrong with bathroom taps, the noise during using them was terrible (probably for the neighbours as well).
Great location. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice.
Quality of the accommodation and the location
Location was great and the breakfast in the morning was a great way to start the day. I would stay here again if we go to Prague.
The second bed for our niece had holes in the sheets and bedding. When we asked the maid to change the sheets she said she would. Nein, nope, nay.New sheets were not placed on the bed.
Fantastic location in the heart of the city, friendly staff.
Lack of air-conditioning, which made it impossible to close the windows at night. It was hard to fall asleep due to the terrible noise in the streets. Boring breakfast, exactly the same each day of our five-day stay.
The location is just great. Breakfast is reasonably good. The terrace offers excellent views of city skyline.
1. Mr Velko at the reception is a great plus for this hotel: very helpful and considering, he advised us where to change money, explained everything that could take us lots of time to figure out. He even let us use the parking to load the luggage as we left Prague with a car. 2. The staff is excellent, friendly and caring. The rooms are kept clean, sheets and towels are regularly replaced. 3. The breakfast was always fresh and nourishing. 4. The internet took some time to get used to (several networks with a common password), but the connection was good. 5. Our room was equipped with a kitchenette (dishes, forks, spoons, frigde, electric kettle) - superb!
1. Although the hotel is located several steps from Staromestska sq., when you need a public transport, you have to walk for 5-8 min (either to Namesti Republika or to Narodni Trida). 2. There is a maintenance issue - when you open taps in a bathroom, they might whistle and wake the rest of your family. You need to open the tap carefully and be ready to open it more or less to avoid the whistle. The problem is bigger when your neighbors open their taps. In that case you have nothing to do, just suffer. 3. Our room did not have A/C. We did not need it too much, though, but in hotter days (and nights) A/C is more than welcome.
The hotel is in a great location just a block or so from the Old Town Square. The room we had was clean and spacious.
Perhaps we had the lousiest room in the hotel, but it was nothing at all like the pictures on the website. Bare wooden floors, old and basic furniture, thin mattresses, dim lighting, no art; just very spartan, like we were staying in a youth hostel. For the money we paid for the room, we expected a little more something like we saw in the photos.
Perfect location, large and clean room, good WiFi.
Breakfast with few options and no fresh cofee (only instant cofee).
The best thing is that it has an excellent location.
The worst thing is that it needs air condition. It gets hot at night.
Smelly Bathroom No Bar
Frankly staff, Reasonable price, good breakfast,
Some repair work disturb sleep during the day time, bathing tub ad shawer was not that appropriate.
clean, comfortable and private. No fuss from the staff, who were helpful and polite but let us organise ourselves and were there when we needed them for anything.Comfortable bed, great shower. Good to have option on fridge etc.
Not a dislike, but would have been nice to have a hotel bar.
Great location and nice breakfast.
The evening receptionist was excellent. She was obviously very intelligent; personable and helpful - going out of her way to explain a challenging transportation question.
The firecrackers that sound like gunfire throughout the night. Noisy neighborhood.
Location is well placed with respect to old town attractions
Originally given a room in back section, serviced by lift that should have been retired 30 years ago. Lift was of the old french style, single door capable of carrying only 2 people according to notice on upper floors. Hotel person took 3 people plus baggage into lift. Rear section of hotel is in my opinion a firetrap, stair lighting did not work. Lift looked as though it was being used as construction lift (Plywood flooring, dirty etc). Room was approached through a maze of twisty passages at ground level. Upon complaining we were moved to room in front section of hotel with a more respectable lift. However room was still not in accord with web site pictures. I suspect that one room has been refurbished to provide pictures. As has been referenced by other reviewers furnishings are a mixture of junk auction room and cheap Ikea. No airconditioning, due to noise from street could not open windows. Plumbing appears to have been installed by an amateur. Tap positions reversed, shower fitting incorrectly assembled, plug lifter on bathroom basin missing components. Lighting comprising primitive compact flourescent globes taking several minutes to reach usable brightness. Bedroom layout badly done, at best 20 cm from bed edge to wall on both sides, drawers badly placed even though with thought could have been significantly placed. In summary, the early reviews of this hotel do not accord with what we found. The rear section of the hotel is of dubious safety, the pictures shown do not necessarily show what may be presented as accommodation. The management seems to lack the professionalism necessary to run a successful hotel even of 3 star rating.
The hotel was perfectly located.we were travelling with kids and often came back in the afternoons to lie down. Our room was equipped with a small kitchenette and it was very convenient. We will unreservedly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit Prague. It is amazing how pvt and intimate it is given its right in the middle of all the activities.
Excellent staff, great location, room simply furnished but comfortable, good breakfast.
