Just next to Charles Bridge & walking distance to attractions Awesome breakfast Super helpful and friendly staff Comfy bed Clean room Unique interior design
poor wifi signal in room
Clean and tidy rooms. Free bottle of champagne for our honeymoon.
Beds, breakfest, Reception staff, Area and location.
waiter in dining room at evening felt like he didn´t like having guests, the food was not very good cold dumpling "our style" the duck over cooked but your houswine (red) was the best wine we drank under our say in prag
A great little hotel located between Charles Bridge and the Castle within easy walking distance of the main tourist areas. The interior is beautifully decorated and if you after some old world Czech charm rather than the big chain Hotel experience this is the Hotel to book. A very peaceful and relaxed atmosphere despite being on the main route to the Castle. We didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening due to the wide choice of other restaurants close by but the Breakfasts were excellent. The staff were very helpfully and very knowledgeable about the area and the free Wi-Fi was a bonus when planning where to go.
There was nothing we didn’t love about this hotel, however if we had been travelling as part of a bigger group the hotel appears to lack a communal space / lounge other than the Restaurant. However I wouldn’t let this put you off as there are plenty of café and Bars close by where you can spend hours watching the world go by.
Stayed two nights and could not fault this Hotel. Staff were very friendly, informative and helpful. Hotel retains it's old style design and architecture mixed with modern facilities in the very large room. Good glazing to keep out evening noise, excellent AC and free wiFi. Nice clean modern bathroom. Location is truly amazing ... step out of the front door and you are bang in the middle of Prague old town with all you need in short walking distance for a great stay. Great restaurants start just 100m from the hotel. ATM right across the Street. Breakfast was very good and to a very high standard. With a choice of French, English, Russian and Japanese hot dishes bought to your table ......Great start to the day! When we visit Prague again we will defiantly be staying here again! Excellent!!
Nothing .......we can not fault this hotel.
Location. Few seconds walk from Charles Bridge. Great antique atmosphere.
Lady at the reception was really unhelpful. Hardly willing to help us. Wifi quite poor... had to go near the door so couldn't use it lying on our beds.
Once at the hotel, the staff poured us some icy cold water, just the right drink we need after tolling our luggage from the train station. The staff has been attentive and polite to the max. In term of location, this is the hotel you should be if you want to be near to Charles Bridge. Charles bridge is located right next to the hotel. Thus, the hotel is like a gateway to what Prague can offer. The breakfast is another highlight of the stay. As my stay comes with breakfast, I get to choose a breakfast set of my choice. Delicious! Choose this hotel for your stay in Prague. You will not regret. ^^
Location, charm, space, comfort, design, service, variety of breakfast, excellent restorant
Not staying longer!
The location was perfect - right by the famous Charles Bridge, but on the quieter and prettier side of the river (in Mala Strana), 2 mins walk from the beautiful St Nicholas church. The décor was very tasteful with a traditional medieval feel and decorative paintings on ceilings. Breakfast was an exciting choice of platter from different countries - the Russian breakfast even includes caviar. All beautifully presented. Slippers dressing gown and chocolate in the bedrooms is also a nice touch.
The floorboards on the landing and stairs were very noisy if you walked in hard shoes/heels! There was a bit of noise heard through the walls from neighbouring rooms. The mattresses although luxurious were a little soft for me.
This hotel has the spirit of old Prague, with its black eagle motif (even on your dressing gown), antique weapons on the walls and its location just over the Charles Bridge. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfasts, they're set pieces rather than a buffet - titled for each country and each beautifully turned out. It's alarming how much conversation we devoted to what we'd choose for tomorrow's breakfast! I'd recommend the Japanese or the French.
The room we got (Room 8) was disappointingly cramped and dark. The floor space was fine but the tiny windows opened onto a water tank. We couldn't switch until the last night, when they gave us Room 2 - miles better! with high ceilings and proper windows looking down to the street. A beautiful bed and silent despite only being on the 1st floor. It's in the same price band but what a difference. it was a shame to waste two nights in a room that wasn't quite worth the money in my opinion, but I was relieved to at least get the third night in a nice room. I'd recommend checking before you book.
The location is perfect. Breakfast is in the hotel restaurant. We can order anything from the menu free. Not like other hotel we stayed in Prague where breakfast is not in hotel restaurant. The room picture is exactly the same with the real room. The hotel decoration is very European.
The shower glass door is only half of the bath tub length. Water cannot be fully blocked. The design is artistic, but not very practical.
The hotel was a lovely building and the room very nice. All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were amazing. Perfect location, minutes away from Charles Bridge and, in the other direction Lesser Town and the Castle were easy to walk to as well.
Nothing. A minor point, there was no shampoo provided but I had brought my own anyway
Excellent location (just a stone throw away from Charles bridge) with very helpful staff, excellent breakfast with many options (English, Continental, French, Russian and even Japanese).
The flip side of the extensive breakfast was that it could take quite a while in the morning to get served.
The only window was very small and facing the inner part of the building, making the room rather dark in terms of natural light. Also, the shower door did not close properly, but this was not a big issue.
Great location and rooms
perfect hotel, even the name "black eagle" is cool.
Cosy, romantic and authentic. Friendly staff.
No elevator, but good exercise. :)
Excellent location, close to every tourist attraction. Just 2 minutes walk to the charles bridge and within 20 minutes walk to the Prague castle, Old Town and the Jewish Museum. Excellent breakfast with choices of English, French and even Russian and Japanese breakfast. Staffs are friendly and helpful. If I have the chance to visit Prague again, definitely I'd stay here again. No other choice.
can't think of any
Location is on the busiest street to the castle & near Charles Bridge. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner was great also & good value. Airport transfer was very reasonable & provided us with breakfast pack for early flight. Room was very spacious & huge bathroom.
Everything, in particular the fit breakfast.
Location was amazing! Very central to everything. Rooms were decorated nicely. The beds are okay, not as great as they claim. The staff is wonderful.
Bathrooms are poorly designed (mirror set back over a ledge above sink and lighting was poor). NO ELEVATOR! We brought our dog and they put us on the top floor. Taking him out to the bathroom in the morning and before bedtime was a hassle. The wifi was horrible. The network showed up rarely and the signal was lost often. It's great if you are one of the lower floors. They should put a second one upstairs. I couldn't get any of the work done that I was suppose to do during the trip. They advertise that there is room service till 11 pm, but we called at 10:20 pm and was told that they didn't have room service. I had to walk down to the first floor and order it with the waiter directly. I offered to wait and take it upstairs myself, but he said he would bring it. So they did have room service.
Would stay there again if I ever visit Prague again. Helpful, friendly staff, nice breakfasts, clean hotel.
Our room was next to the road on the first floor. Needs better sound insulating windows. Was very noisy at times.
It was quite easy to find a hotel. We got there by public transport. Takes ca 45min from airport. If you check google maps for destination and select public transport then info shown is quite precise. Hotel stuff was very friendly and willing to help on any matter. Perfect location gives you an opportunity to get "crowd free" photographs of a Charles Bridge. Despite a quite busy area sound from the street is not interrupting (solid windows are in place). We were leaving early in the morning and would miss our breakfast. It was very nice of hotel stuff to arrange some fruit and sandwiches to take away.
Can't think of anything, really.
The exceptional service provided throughout our stay. Nikol was available at all times to answer all of our questions and took a lot of time to find services we were seeking. She really went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. We will definitely return to this hotel on any future visits to Prague.
We were warmly greeted, given lots of information and the rooms were charming and had extra touches like a little table with teacups, chocolate and fresh water. Beds were comfortable, breakfast service friendly and accomodating. We have a vegan daughter and they were very nice about her special requests. The location was perfect, a few steps from Charles Bridge.
