I've traveled quite a bit and seen my share of hotels and apartments, either for business or leisure. Now i don't really mind if a light fixture doesn't work or the TV is stuck to channel3; those things happen. There is one thing i find inexcusable though and that is bad cleanliness. I expect a clean bed and clean bathroom. Those are the basics, all the rest are nice extras. Unfortunately for our stay, those basics weren't right. Yes, the bedlinen was washed (it smelled clean), but the sheets were too small so they didn't completely cover the (bloodstained) mattress. The blanket- and pillow covers had what seemed to be ink stains on them; judging by the yellow color of the pillows themselves, those seemed to be at least a decade old.
In the made beds we found multiple hairs, not left behind by the same person.
The bathroom had all facilities, but the tiling was discolored with mold and the silicone finish in the edges was completely perished.
We finally decided to put the sheets on the couch and sleep there, using rolled up towels as a pillow.
Again, i don't expect my room to be perfect, and judging by the photos on this site, there are apartments with different (overhauled?) interiors.
It seems we didn't get one of those.
A real pity, because the location, the atmosphere and the very friendly staff would have made this a top-notch stay.
My advice to the management:
Ikea: mattress + linens, E500,-
HG products for the bathroom: E20,-
If you had made that investment before my stay, you would've had good review. As it was now, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
- The staff was very friendly and helpful
- The location is absolutely terrific
- The apartment has plenty of room
- Parking facilities around the corner
