everything was awesome great staff atmosphere rooms themselves good place to meet people lots of little perks (12pm checkout, plug adapter to check out if you need it..etc)
location wasn't the best, but everything else made up for it. i still recommend this place
Sir Toby's is by far, hostel and hotel wise, the best place I ever stayed in. Forget the trendy but cold atmosphere of so many other hostel where people don't talk to each other. Sir Toby's is a warm, clean and cosy place you can almost call home the minute you check in. The staff is simply amazing, the kitchen very nice, the bar is just perfect and brings people together like magic and the all you can eat (for 5 euros) breakfast is delicious and decadent. Easy to get to by using the very efficient tram system, even if it is not situated in the heart of the old city. I recommend Sir Toby's to everyone.
Had to take the tram to the city center. At night, the tram takes 30 minutes to arrive.
Awesome vibe in the place, the best pub in town is right therr, in the hostel.
Convenient location, having a superb pub, friendly staff
The staff was very personable and helpful. Every day they helped with my choice of tourist sights and directions to these sights. Breakfast offered a diverse selection of healthy food, coffee, tea and juices. I'm 68 and was traveling by myself. Everybody was friendly and engaged in conversation with me. No ageism that I was aware of. This was only the second hostel I have stayed at and I have to say that it was 100 times better than the first one. It has beautiful antiques, oriental rugs and lovely art work. The rooms were minimalist which I liked a lot, makes it easier to find things:) I would definitely stay at Sir Toby's again.
There was only a cabinet to put folded clothes in, no drawers and no closet in the twin private room.
Sir tobys is a good second option
The staff was amazing, so helpful and friendly! The beds were very comfortable and spacious (I tried 6 bed dorm and 12 bed), buffet breakfast and pub are great, and I especially loved the events they put on for guests to socialize and feel at home. Location is easily accessible by tram lines and you can transfer to the subway pretty quickly too. Loved Sir Toby's overall and would come back again!
One night, a group across the hall were shouting and drinking in their room all night, but I think it was just my bad luck. Prague attracts those kinds of tourists sometimes.
The recomendations of places to go
It was a little far from the center of Prague
nice people, friendly staff, free bbq, cheap breakfast, easy to get to the center (tram)
Sir Toby's has an eclectic vibe, the best hostel breakfast in existence, a great pub, rooms with character, a beautiful backyard with old sewing machine tables as searing, a huge, clean guest kitchen and great staff.
Honestly, everything is great!
Love everything about this place. Stay there every time I go to Prague and recommend to all my friends and family. Best part is the free BBQ and the amazing breakfast, good work guys :)
Can't really think of anything!
Awesome place. Must stay here.
Kind of a bad location, although it is close to the tram.
location is far to city
Great value for money have been staying for the past 15 years and it only gets better. Very friendly staff and good location
sorry the meditation room is no longer there
Staff were helpful, common areas were big and good for meeting people. Breakfast was also good for meeting people.
Room was too small for 12 people, and with no fan and the window closed, was stuffy and smelly in the morning. Top bunk was high. Beds could have had curtains all the way around for more privacy, and electrical outlets at each bed would have been helpful. I stayed at 7 hostels in total, and this was the only one that didn't provide towels or a lock.
10 min. by tram to the city centre
The staff was funny and nice.
Location and description aboit location was bad.
Helpful staff. Clean, quiet rooms. Great value.
A bit out of town. Only stayed one night, so didn't get to try out the bar!
EVERYTHING!!!! best hostel ever, definitly coming back.
nothing 2 complain
Great, helpful, friendly staff. Very cool old building with character and nice, wood antique furnishings. I stayed in a private room and it was spacious but also cosy. The hostel is to far from the city centre for walking but Prague has a great transit system so you just walk a 100m down the road and you have lots of options of trams.
The room doors make a tremendous amount of noise when they slam shut. I think they could add a few rubber bumpers or a bit of foam seal and this quick fix may make a lot of difference.
Friendliness of the staff Atmospheare at the bar
It is a bit far from towncentre, however, easy public trams.
I was pretty amazed, honestly. The hostel is designed and furnitured very tastefully, the staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. I also liked the breakfast (there are mixed eggs and dough prepared so you can make yourself fresh scrambled eggs or pancakes), music in the bar (the rolling stones while having a breakfast?), book exchange shelf and waste separation. I will definitely recommend this place to all friends travelling to Prague from now on.
The shower wasn't separeted from the rest of bathroom very well and so the floor gets wet easily, but it's not a big deal.
key cards for rooms. great layout , quiet in rooms, but great cellar bar for beer and music. non smoking! one of the classiest hostels ive stayed in. maybe the best!
must tram your way to city. but they provide tickets and day passes for sale at reception, so once your at tobys, your golden.
It was cold in the kitchen. Staff was a little bit uninterested.
