The Red Lion Hotel  

Lovely room, great location close to the castle, complimentary bottle of wine in the room on arrival. The Staff at The Golden Star were very pleasant and helpful.

No one tells you there is no reception and you need to use The Golden Star further up the road. The restaurant below the Red Lion is a separate concern, and the women there was extremely rude and unhelpful. I would recommend only using the room facilities and breakfast at the Red Lion and avoid the restaurant downstairs.

The rooms were decorated very well and the beds were comfortable. The complementary wine was a nice touch.

The breakfast was poor and the orange juice had been extremely watered down on our first morning there. Also, we had to check-in at a different building which we hadn't been informed about when we booked the room.

Everything else.

The only problem is that the street the hotel is located at is closed for car traffic without permission. But it's possible to enter it with you car having the hotel's visiting card. So probably a booking print-out would also save you in case of an argument with police.

Was traveling with small daughter, we had a baby crib prepared for her free of charge (she liked the sheets :) ) and room was lovely, spacious and clean. Bathroom was fine, towels were more than enough for two people and a baby. Nice wine was waiting for us on the table and there was an electric kettle with tea and coffee. Location of the hotel is perfect for trips around the Lesser Town, you can get everywhere on foot and you sleep right under the Prague Castle. I pitied I couldn't stay longer so I could've used this opportunity. Breakfast was ok, although not outstanding. I'm sure the ladies at the restaurant would be helpful enough to serve something else in case you didn't like the choice.

Beds - the matress was too hard for me, the kind you can find on a regular sofa or cheaper beds. I didn't get much sleep as I was trying to find a comfortable position. Not many cars can pass to Nerudova street (access on permit), but when they do, they make a hell lot of noise, so does wheeled luggage as there are cobblestones on the ground and reception of another hotel on the opposite side. Our room had windows to the street so it's better to close them for someone who's not used to it. It was a bit difficult to find the main reception (located at the end of the street), especially when you check-in after 4 p.m., but staff was helpful enough to give directions so we made it in the end :)

Front desk people at the affiliate hotel were very good.

Great value for your dollar. Rooms were Antique and spacious yet very cozy. Convienient location next to Prague Castle. Would have stayed longer but they were booked solid. Totally worth the stay and would totally recommend.

The location is good. The girl from restaurant is wonderful! Hotel is not noisy.

I didn't like bathroom,it is not comfortable at all. The floor is always wet after washing.

Ich hatte einen Gesäftspartner aus Wien zur Besuch im Prag. Das Hotel liegt um das alte Prag zu besuchen gerade ideal. Wir genossen nicht nur die Sehenwürdigkeiten. Besonders am Abend bummeln wir durch die fantastische Bar´s und Pub´s, die in der Gegend am jeden Trit un Schrit zu finden sind. Als wir das Hotelzimmer betraten dachten wir uns um 100 Jahre zurück verzetzt. Alte Mobiliar, die Decke hand original coloriert. Bad war astsauber, die Betten bequem. Das Personal recht entgegenkommend. Eine Flasche Wein bekammen wir als wilkommen Geschenk. Einfach gesagt der Preis und die Leistung fantastisch. Mei Geschäftsfreund war begeistert.

Das Frühschtückbuffet war etwas mickrig, zu kleine Auswahl.

This hotel was very charming, we were accomodated in the beautiful historical room. I loved the place, just feeling sorry that we cannot stay longer.

Il n'y a pas de réception dans cet hôtel, qui n'est pas un hôtel, mais une sorte d'annexe (41, rue Nerudovna) avec des boutons d'appel communiquant avec un autre hôtel (48, rue Nerudovna, je ne l'ai appris que plus tard) via un haut-parleur de mauvaise qualité à travers lequel un aimable réceptionniste tchèque parlant un anglais touristique essaie de se faire comprendre d'un touriste français arrivant, par - 4° vers 20 h 30, après s'être fait répondre par plusieurs personnes dans la rue Nerudovna : "Hotel Red Lion ? Connais pas!". La fiche que j'ai reçue de vous par Internet n'indique rien de ce traquenard. Ce n'est pas admissible.

Good location, room warm and comfortable bed. Normal breakfast.

The staff don´t speak English. The bread was dry or the day before

La disposizione delle camere e' particolare e a me e' piaciuta molto. La nostra aveva all'entrata una prima camera poi un lungo corridoio con tante finestre ed in fondo un altra camera. L'arredamento e' antico ma molto bello. Spazi grandi, ottimi per una famiglia di quattro. Tutto molto pulito e bagni nuovi. L'hotel e' proprio sotto il castello e il centro e' raggiungibile a piedi. Posizione molto bella. Il riscaldamento e' regolabile con termovalvole su ogni termosifone.

Il fatto che l'hotel si appoggi alla reception dell'hotel Golden star a 50 mt crea qualche disagio in piu'. Avevo chiesto il trasporto dal'aeroporto ma non c'era nessuno, probabilmente perche' eravamo in ritardo di un'ora. Il checkout all'hotel Golden star e' stato lunghissimo e pretendevano che andassimo li con le valige al posto di far andare il taxi fino al Red Lion, 50 mt piu' sotto.

Výborná poloha, ochotný personál, čisté komfortní pokoje. Dýchá na Vás atmosféra Malé Strany. Pražský hrad 2 minuty.

Lärm von anderen Gästen war sehr störend, und leider keine gute Schalldämmung zwischen den Wohneinheiten

Nelíbilo se mi to, že hotelový personál zrušil reservaci aniž by zavolal, ale jinak byl hotel perfektní. :)

La habitación es espaciosa no está lejos del centro aunque la calle está en cuesta es una zona tranquila por la noche

No es un 4 estrellas el baño es muy pequeño y algo cutre, se atascó la cisterna el hotel no tiene ascensor y está viejo no tiene a nadie en recepción, hay que ir a otro hotel que está más arriba el mobiliario es muy viejo pedimos que nos llamaran un taxi y al que avisaron no era taxista y nos cobró un precio excesivo para ir al aeropuerto: 650 coronas, obviamente carecía de taxímetro. Desayuno buffet poco variado y excaso no lo recomendaría

La habitación esta limpia y muy cuidada, el mobiliario es antiguo y bien cuidado.

El desayuno es un poco flojo y el personal que lo sirve poco preparado. La radio suena muy alta con noticias en Checo y publicidad, no es lo mas recomendable para desayunar.

Unser Zimmer (Nr. 21) war grandios, passend zur Stadt. Nette Flasche Wein als Präsent im Zimmer. Bemalte Decken. Die Prager Burg einen Fußschritt entfernt. Die Altstadt fußläufig erreichbar. Freundliches Personal.

Ein Handtuch, was hätte ausgewechselt werden sollen, wurde nicht ausgewechselt, obwohl es verschmutzt war. Hinweisschild, dass die Rezeption nicht besetzt ist und aus einem Nachbarhotel eingecheckt wird, hätte noch verständlicher gemacht werden müssen.

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. We've been given a beautiful room which looked almost like a suite. the staff was super friendly meeting every our request. We will definitely come back here. Location is superb right under the castle and a good price.

breakfast - not many choices and due to the antic beds there is a gap between them. But these are no big remarks. altogether an amazing stay.

Esta situado en una de las calles màs preciosas d Praga. Eso sì, en cuesta. Desayuno agradable. Limpio. Caliente.

Esta al lado del Castillo pero èsto està al otro lado del rio Moldava y para hacer vidilla ìbamos hay mas bares, restaurantes,etc al otro lado,con lo cual habìa que cruzar el puente todo el rato.

La situation de l'hôtel-restaurant correspondait exactement à ce que l'on recherchait. Un peu préservé des flux touristiques mais dans un quartier qui s'inscrit néanmoins dans l'histoire de la ville. Notre chambre était spacieuse et son décor seul nous a fait voyager. Un bon point donc pour ceux avides de dépaysement!

L'hôtel ne dispose pas de réception ni de personnel propre (nous n'avons vu que des gens du restaurant). Pour la réception, il faut s'adresser à l'hotel voisin (même groupe hôtelier) et pour le reste (réclamation etc... )C'est le néant. Le petit-déjeuner est proposé à partir de 7h00. Nous sommes arrivés à 7h45, la femme de ménage passait encore la serpillère et les "plateaux" étaient encore sous plastique... Vue la tête des quelques bouts de vieux fromage et de jambon, nous avons passé notre tour!
