The house was burnt down during the Hussite wars and then renewed again in 1503. Expensive renovations were carried out during the Renaissance period, in the second half of the 16th century. The third floor was built in baroque style in 1686. The Lion’s masks on the facade of third floor facing Mostecka street are the patrons of the building. The early-Baroque portal is visible from Josefska Street. In 1865 the staircase leading from the basement all the way to the attic was built.
The Charles Hotel Prague was established in 1890. The last renovation was done in 2008.

The hotel is situated in Malá Strana (Lesser Town) on the way to Prague Castle, close to all the main historical sights and many galleries. You will find good restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. From the tram stop, only a short walk away, you can get to any part of the city while the Metro from the close-by Malostranska station can take you further afield very quickly.

there was no issue about late check out that brakfast personnel never offered helping with suitcases although had no work at the moment and just stared - personnel at check in friendly - |

The hotel was in a great location, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were large, comfortable and clean. If I return to Prague I will definitely stay here again |

Great location, very clean and inviting. The weather was sub zero but the hotel and rooms was always warm. The hoover goes on about 7.00 am so dont expect a lay in, the glazing does not keep out the street noise too well, but it is in the middle of a busy City. |

The room was so perfect! Everything was clean and comfortable and the location was great: so close to Charles Bridge and just 10 min. walk from the central square.Good breakfast and great staff.The room was really "intimate" and the bathroom really clean-Easily reachable and good price.I would really suggest to stay here. |

Wonderful Tudor beams, thick walls, felt like Henry VIII. Nothing to do with the Hotel but be careful when eating out in Prague, lots of strange charges add another 30-40% on top of what you think you might be paying |

the hotel is very well located , in a few foot steps from the bridge and around the corner there was a tram station, the nearest subway station was in a 5 min walking distance. breakfast was simple but more than enough. room was very clean and spacious with a nice window to the street, coffee and tea facilities in the room. |

It was a very well maintained interesting old building which added to the charm of a very old city. The staff was very helpful and knew the city well. The room was clean and still had that old charm feel. The breakfast was very good. The location was superb, very close to the bridge. |

The unusual rooms, decor and fantastic location to everything you need while staying at prague We had to change rooms after the first night due to the noise outside our bedroom but room changed to had a great night sleep. Also wireless internet, although there was an available computer downstairs i was there for business/leisure and could not connect to the internet due to reception/signal strength etc no good internet use availble in the rooms |

We walked right past the anonymous facade of the hotel, but once opening the main door we were stunned.. Newly renovated boutique hotel in perfect location just in between the royal castle and the old town on the other side of the river. 10 min walk to reach the main attractions in Prague. The style of the hotel is modern , yet maintaining the historic feeling. Really helpful & service minded staff, grand room with nice and clean atmosphere, and delicate bathroom. The restaurant where they serve breakfast is however not renovated - and gives a bad first impression - but the range and taste of buffet selection gave us a positive surprise. We can also reccomend the jazz bar to the right of the entrance - laidback atmosphere with lots of charm The room only had mirror on the bathroom. When getting ready for a night out (and more than 1 person sharing room) it would have been useful to have a full figure mirror. Also, the windows facing the street are quite thin - we could hear any noise outside.. |
