The staff were more than helpfull. Great breakfast, with well maintained rooms and spotless bathrooms . I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend the U Schnella to others
How close it is from city center, most touristic places are walking distance from location. The view is nice and the building itself matches the surroundings. Decent breakfast options.
A little noisy during the day, apparently there are some schools around and the constant trams passing until late hours.
Location, comfort & sleep, price, restaurant, public transport, sound isolation
For me personal: no airco (it was hot otsside). For older people: no elevator
The welcome was very warm. The deskkeeper has spoken English very well, and was really kind and attentive. The room (202) was perfect located and orientated. The noise from the street with closed windows was minimal. Only the tram vibrated a little at night. But our sleep was restful. Including our 1,5 year old son's. There were no any accidental waken up at night. When we received the room we realized some kind pinkies: A stylish bottle of water prepaired for us, plus a beer bottle opener ( ;) smart!); a little box of bathroom stuff for the baby. Everything was clean, in good order. The baby bed was built and prepaired with bed stuff. The room is bright. Good to see. Friendly. The decoration was authentic, stylish and everyone can see the attention and care for the little things, too. The bathroom is comfortable and clean. The room was cleaned periodically during our stay. The parking was easy: The hotel is prepaired for guests by car: They have several official cards, which can be put into the top of the car cockpit. It allows to park nearby at the blue zones (these zones are restricted to be used by the card holders only. Painted to the surface, easy to recognize). It means there were a lot of free places close to the hotel (1 or 2 short corners from the hotel). If you see the hotel is at the heart of the citycenter, the oldtown it is pretty good! 20€/day is acceptable on this way. There is no more stress on it. The kitchen of the hotel is very good. We compared it with some others in the oldtown. I can suggest to live with it! Additionally there was 20% discount for the hotel guests in the restaurant. Nice! The breakfast was included to the prise. There were a lot of variations regarding the breakfast. So it was more than enough. The service was also perfect. And they have babychair. It was not a problem. It cannot be said for all the places in the oldtown. The oldtown is close. The hotel is part of it. The Charles Bridge is 1 corner from there.
Maybe on hot summer the room can be too hot. And to resolve it the open windows can allow too much noise from the street (cars, trams). But on every other cases with closed windows the room is perfect! In the restaurant I realized a little so called caos: Always another barman served us within one dinner. Sometimes we had to wait a little to catch one's eye to be able to order. They were kind and served well, only the focus was a LITTLE changing.
Just a short distance to Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. Close too to Prague Castle. Also a lot of lovely Architecture this side of the river which probably gets overlooked by most visitors.
Trams woke me up a wee bit too early in the morning, but saved me using an alarm clock. :)
- Excellent location. Walking distance from all tourist sites, Vltava river and public transport. - Clean and fairly large rooms. - Comfortable beds. - Good WiFi strength and internet speed. - Friendly and responsive staff. - Breakfast has a variety of dishes. - We've got our room before the official check-in time. Late check-out (we left at 7 PM) was also possible for a fair price. - Good restaurant with 20% discount for hotel customers. - Very good value for money.
- A bit noisy when windows are open. - No elevator. - Water pressure in the shower is very low. - No curtain in the bath. - WiFi had a bit complicated management. Every two days the password has been changed.
Neat and tidy. Very friendly service. The most important great base for old town and Castle
the problem with free internet. I did not work as it should....
The reception at the hotel was very friendly and willing to help us when we arrived late on night. ThenlovTion of the hotel is very good, 10 minutes walk from touristic places.
One of the rooms that we got was not so clean and the smell was very bad.
locality in city centre nice staff good restaurant clean rooms everything tidy
noisy street if opened window small bathroom, but generally ok
The hotel is in the old building of 17 century. The furniture and design is in the old style and the rooms are very cosy and tidy. The reception is very good and attentive and always ready to help. Cleaning every day. Very close to the Charles bridge and the old city. Only 5 minutes walking. Hotel has its own nice restaurant where the guests can have 20% discount of their orders.
No lift in the building. The flushing system is not working well. Beds were very hard for me to sleep on, but others might like it. No fridge in the room.
nice& clean helpful staff perfect location
20 EUR/day parking, quite expensive
The excellent location for a cheap price, nice breakfast, English speaking staff
We asked for a twin room and we got a double room with not separable bed. It is noisy because of the passing trams.
The location of the hotel is perfect for everything. You are in the middle. Almost on the Charle's Bridge, very close to Parliament. The parking that hotel provides is also near that place so will feel safe) The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and comfortable. Great wi-fi. Next time - only this place to stay.
Location Large room Nice view of basilica Clean
Building is shaking while trams pass by and since it is next to a popular square where trams for 8 different directions stop, one's sleep is disturbed with the shake. Wifi is limited technically since they provide vouchers with limited usage timing. 1-2 or 8 hrs at max per voucher. Once u activate a voucher, it becomes invalid in next 1 to 8 hrs. Thus, if u use it in the morning, u need to run after a new one in the evening. And, if it is late, u wont find anyone to ask for. Very hot during summer and only a small fan is provided.
The hotel staff was not aware about my free late check out at 2 pm (as a Genius). Could you please make sure you inform the hotels properly about the gifts you extend to your customers
I really enjoyed staying at this hotel - location is perfect - just 5 minutes by foot from Charles Bridge and 2 minutes from tram stations. Room was clean, big and comfortable, Bathroom had everything what I needed. Breakfast was included into the price and was fresh and tasty. Would stay at this hotel on my next trip to Prague!
It was a bit loud when windows were opened, but that is expected since hotel is in the very popular area. When windows are closed you could not hear sounds from the street, which is very nice.
Excellent ratio quality over price
Perfect location and nice staff.
Loved the location and the room was big and clean.
The staff could have been a bit more friendly but they were satisfactory.
Great service Instant response to problem Welcoming and atmospheric Very good breakfast included Wonderful historical location Historical sights accessible on foot Good food available until late Quirky old building
Carpets and soft furnishings ' tired ' One bedroom with a damp problem
Excellent location - 5 min walk to Charles Bridge. Beds were comfortable and room was clean.
Couldn't keep the windows open at night due to the noise (trams, traffic, music) - this would be fine in winter, however in hotter months is it very uncomfortable. We were there in late May and it was already quite stuffy and humid at night. There is no aircon or ceiling fans - only a small desk fan. The bath/shower has no shower screen/curtain provided so you end up with a small lake on the floor after showering.
Location Room size Bathroom size
Breakfast very basic
Great location of the hotel. Actually we liked and enjoyed staying in hotel. We can recommend.
The room was nicely arranged and decorated. Excellent location, next to a tram stop and 5 minutes from the metro.
During daytime it can be a bit noisy, due to the fact the tramway passes in front of the hotel
It is in a central area, so you can move on foot
The breakfast could be better
