눉In the many places that I've traveled to and stayed at (from hostels to 5 star hotels), never have I stayed at a place that so shamelessly neglected to provide basic service.
When we came back to our room around 9pm, we noticed that the room temperature was very cold (outside temperature was lower that 10 celcius), and there was no hot water. After checking with our neighbors, we quickly realized that the water heater in our unit was broken and the error light was on. We found a Villa Johanna business card in the room and proceeded to dial the numbers on it, as well as going online to find additional numbers related to the establishment to call. We also tried emailing as a last resort. After dialing and emailing for an hour, we realized that we are not going to reach anyone from the hotel to help us that night. The only thing we could do at that point is to put on our warmest clothes, and go to bed without a hot shower. The next morning, when we told Helena the owner/receptionist that we tried to call them, she just shrugged and said the reception is closed after 6pm. When we told them it's unacceptable that we paid full price and was not even able to get heat or hot water, and had no access to anyone in the hotel, she replied with: "other customers in the building didn't have that problem," as if it was our mistake that the heat and hot water was not in the room. Needless to say, since she took our money in cash at check-in, she refused to refund any part of the price for compensation. We were traveling with our elderly parents, and it was horrific that they have to sleep without heat in a Czech October. What if it was snowing outside? Or what if there was a fire, or a life threatening emergency?
The hotel staff basically disappears after you check in and they take your money, as you can tell from other reviews.
눇Many aspects of the property are actually quite nice but we're putting in a lowest possible rating for the reasons stated on the right.
