This 3-star hotel is a 2-minute walk from the Reeperbahn entertainment mile in Hamburg’s St. Pauli district. It offers great public transportation services and modern rooms with a flat-screen TV.
Score from 2129 reviews Very good
Still ideal for people who want to be close to the Millerntor and St Pauli cafés and restaurants as well as public transport.
Whereas during previous visits the rooms were surprisingly quiet, this time was disturbed by kids next door creating their own disco rather than joining the nightlife outside!
Free wifi, staff are very friendly and helped us as we cannot speak German. Beds are comfortable. Overall a decent choice if you are wanting a cheaper alternative.
We had two different rooms during the stay. The first room was not as nice and didnt seem as clean (the bathroom had an unpleasant odour), the second room was a lot smarter. They dont do tea and coffee making facilities but i'm to understand that its normal in Germany. The breakfast was not worth it considering you can buy much nicer things from a local bakery for half the price, we picked up some lovely pastries from a bakery just two minutes away. When we went for breakfast they had run out of croissants and the one they had left was stale. The location is very noisy particularly if you are on the ground floor next to the street. You can hear everything that happens in the corridor, so when people are talking loudly at 3am you will be woken up, which we were frequently.
very friendly staff, rooms clean and comfortable, public transport in walking-distance. Very good value for money
Our room was next door to a pub obviously regularly visited by supporters of the local football club. Because of the constant noise it was hard to relax (three overnight stays!) and somehow spoilt the otherwise pleasant stay
Handy location, quiet, clean hotel, free wi-fi, large room.
View of rubbish in garden from window, uncomfortable pillows, not cheap.
Hotel was clean and tidy, breakfast impressive. Area not bad even Sankt Pauli.
sometimes loud from the street
Reception staff very friendly and accommodating , always willing to help & assist , location location , excellent , st pauli - rules
Shower very small, cleaning staff very poor job at cleaning , a lot of wrappers , food left behind from previous tenant , found under beds
Basic room, okay beds, quite clean. Right in 'centre' of Sankt Pauli. Free parking in front of hotel.
I asked for a room far away from elevator (both in reservation and upon arrival) but got one right next to it. Result: we woke up quite early in the morning because of noise. You have to give passport number and fill-out a form to get an internet password: too much hassle and nonsense as I never had this in Germany. Since we were on our way out when we asked it, I did not fill it out in the evening. In the morning when I asked for a code, I got one from another receptionist without having to have to fill-out a form.
It was affordable (45 Euros), yet felt as though I was staying in a high-end hotel; whereby one could pay 2-3 times the amount. Spacious and clean; comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff.
Friendly staff, nice room, good WI-FI connection and close to the subway station.
area staff solid, fast wifi connection
Great location, fair price, clean basic room. Access to great restaurants and night life, parks, metro. Excellent locale.
The wifi was beyond atrocious. So slow that I couldn't even check email even at the lobby. Just don't provide wifi if its going to be this bad. This is a deal breaker, <i will not stay here again because of this and the importance of internet access while I travel. Sucks cause I liked the price, great location and quick metro access. But I REALLY need wifi to resume work on travels. I will try the wifi next time and if its better I will get a room again.
Very comfortable bed, big room, friendly people. Little bit old but big, clean room. Great location!
Wifi often disconnected at room.
I liked how efficient my check-in and check-out processes were. The bed was comfortable, although not what I expected.
After a late night, as one is bound to have in Hamburg, I was awaken by non-stop knocking on the door around noon by the housekeeping staff. Still half asleep, I tried to talk from my bed to the people outside and asked them in English and German to let me sleep and come back later. Since they would knock louder every time, I got up and had to answer the door to please ask them to leave. As the cleaning ladies spoke a Slavic language amongst them, I finally asked them to come in, see if they could fix the sink stop, which was on but had no lever and the TV, which I couldn't turn on. The cleaning ladies finally left after I signed them that I did not wish for them to clean the room yet. Soon after, the lady at the front desk showed up, she seemed very agitated and I had to ask her to lower her voice. She said she would have the plumber look at the sink, which never happened. Additionally, the Queen bed I got was just two singles put together, which would slide apart without notice and I would fall through the gap in the middle. The room is poorly converted, since you can't quite open the bathroom door since the bed gets in the way. Also, the Wi-Fi was intermittent at best. If I'm paying 60 Euro a night, I really don't want such a scrappy place. There are hotels near the Reeperbahn which are much, much cheaper and hostels where the staff is at least friendly. I'm sure the lady means well, but she's not prepared to talk to guests who have stayed at, say, the Ramada Inn, where at least they smile at you.
The room had two separate beds and a large window. The hotel had a lift. There was always someone at reception.
Shower very small The room was very hot (sunny side of the building I presume) There were several hazards including in the doorway to the room.
great location great room great staff room 210 has kitchenette and sink
The hotel was basic, however it was exactly what we were looking for. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The hotel is in walking distance of the train stations and very close to Altona (which is just lovely). We stayed in a room just off the hotel's main entrance, this meant we never had to go through reception. This was really nice as it nearly felt like we had our own little apartment for a few days. The wifi was also excellent! The area itself feels safe and there are lots of little corner shops around.
I lost one of the room keys and they charged me for it, I thought that was a bit mean as it's only a plastic card. Also, the double bed was actually two single beds pushed together and they kept sliding apart.
Location and price
WiFi didn't work properly in my room on the 4th floor
A quite good location if you are going to use public transport. The nearest bus stop at 150 m. A reasonable breakfast and it's price.
- Fully insufficient soundfproofing, both for the street noise and between the rooms. However; this deficiency is quite common anywhere in Germany. - No air conditioning
Well situated for the main attractions. Room clean and functional. Parking was available close to the hotel which was a bonus.
Good location for Reeperbahn, but don't bring somebody here if you want to impress them. Good value for money and friendly staff.
Awful view. Basic facilities.
Good ratio quality/price. Essential. Nice position. Also some nice restaurant in the area.
Even though it was a non-smoking room, there was ash on the window ledge, showing the cleanliness of the hotel. Dust everywhere. Awful mattress. Broken soap distributor. No shampoo. Internet not working. The hotel is really expansive for what it is really.
Broken down lift. Petrol can in lift. Backyard fire escape. Ants in the room. Location. Pretty basic. Booked for two nights, only stayed one.
location is good，not far away from the subway station st. Pauli.
Very clean, if basic room, good bed and linen, big windows, and the bathroom was spacious and with an excellent shower.
No bar! And my original room had a leak in the ceiling; the room I was moved to was incredibly noisy, right next to the breakfast room. Also, no hairdryer in room which was a bit disappointing.
