Staff was unpolite
Nice price. Breakfest ok, but a little expansive.
Very poor wifi: slow, unsteady and unreliable.
The position in the heart of Cologne gay life. Easy access 24h for occasional guests in the room. Good breakfast. Room very clean.
The price was a little bit too high. Young people talking loud in the corridors.
Hostel is located on (some) floor(s) of the Hotel -> noisy night . Very small room.
Comfortable room , good breakfast.
Staff varied.... Hospitality is important... When travelling solo , it matters more...
Unnecessary wait line at reception (up to 10mins to ask a simple question even when 4+ staff are present) staff didn't seem interested to serve or acknowledge anyone. Also they doubled booked our private room which was turned into a dorm, very concerning to have random people enter your private room.
Fantastic value - basic but clean, great service and just a short walk to the centre
Didn't know it's a hostel and completely overpriced. Guests are expected to do their bed (the bunk beds)...first time ever been asked to do it. Shocking
close to the center by walking. closed parking area under the hotel.
Location is very great, close to shopping streets and 15 mins walk from the central station. Free wifi in common areas.
A guy who checked me in couldn't find my booking (usually there were no problems with that) and asked for my booking confirmation. He looked like he didn't like his job and tried everything to get rid of me.
The location is good, not far from the city center and close to the shopping part of Cologne. The rooms are clean and comfortable and in some rooms there is access to the Internet.
Some of the staff was not that friendly and also they charged us an extra 3 Euros per person for sheets and we didn't get towels, and if you want to pay with a credit card you have to pay an extra fee.
Location, friendly stuff
A little bit noisy, a lot of young partying people from the hostel, can be annoying. The room was small and without even one shelf to repack your clothes.
Value for money stay with good breakfast.
uncomfortable warm summer sleep.
They definitely need more staff
The (summer) staff did not seem that well prepared.
Good for the kids, particularly the games room.
Noise!!!! Often had lots of noise until 12.30-1.30. We were on the first floor and driver 2nd and we all had the same trouble with noise.
the pictures they had posted on their website actually looked like their hostel. the wifi cost money to have in your room but if you connected to it in the lobby, in my case, it reached to my room. the staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious compared to some hostels ive stayed in
the room was cheap but they get you by making you pay for sheets if you dont have them. 3 euros for a pair of sheets is a little high when the room only cost 10 but whatever. the breakfast was also a little expensive at 6 euros but still worth it becasue it was all you can eat and you can make a sandwhich to bring with you for later in the day
That my towel went missing from the room that I was alone.
I stayed in a single room and it had a good amount of space and was well laid out. Also, relatively quiet hotel for a big space. Although for a hotel room could do with tea making facilities.
While some of the staff were friendly, a few had a large chip on the shoulder. For example, I had an issue with the washing machine and this grumpy girl launched into this tirade that it was my fault and I should have read the instructions properly - which I did. Then she accused me of not putting money in the machine at all. When I went to get more coins from the front desk the lovely and attentive boy told me that the washing machine was out of order. I then asked where there was a laundromat near by and the girl kept interrupting with extremely vague instructions on how to get there "just go left", while the boy again attentive provided a detailed locale, marking the approximate location on the map. While the room is of hotel standard do not expect a hotel standard in any other respect. Still very much hostel service with no emphasis on helping during the stay.
Private toilet in each dorm room The location was central, 20min walk to cologne cathedral
When we arrived, wifi was down and not working at all. Do note that wifi is not free even if it was working You have to pay 3 euros for linen. Take note!!
Position is good, nothing else.
I booked a single room with private bathroom. I had one equipped for disabled reminiscent of a hospital. Poor disabled people who have stayed there, really sad place to be. The mattress was poor with the sheets so consumed by having the holes. I paid extra wireless in room 5 € per day and worked very badly with a poor signal. Breakfast is equally poor with very little choice and products by discount stores. As hostel maybe ok I do not know. Definitely not a hotel and it never will be, even in the economy segment, if they do not change approach.
front desk service is good and kind. Good location and budgeted price.
a bit noisy . People got drunk and made noise during midnight outside the window. But based on its price, I think generally I still feel satisfied.
Location is good. Staff OK - except in breakfast room.
I had a very bad night... I had booked a bed in a 6-bed dormitory. Nothing scary a priori. In such circumstances, it's hard to decide who will and when to switch the common light off... So a unique light remained on (for guests supposedly still to come). But I couldn't sleep in until another guest turned the light off. From the millions stars in my eyes that took minutes to disappear, I understood that the light was the main source of the inconfort. It was 4AM, and the night was "not very good". Unlike other backpackers hotels (e.g. Wohngemeinschaf not far from there), the privacy is null. Staff in breakfast room must have faced much problems - friendlyness is probably kept for later.
Poor breakfast, atmosphere, personnel, and way overpriced (125e for a room for 1 pers) for a semi-hotel (more a hostel)
