Friendly, quaint, good food too ! All in all, a nice experience

The location is convenient for cross Europe journeys

There was a serious problem at this hotel with the restaurant’s Maître’ D – the most staggeringly unprofessional person ever encountered in the hotel industry. When he brought me the wrong meal, he refused to change it when the mistake was pointed out, walking off while I was in mid-sentence, muttering ‘well there it is’. When he failed to return after a few minutes I was forced to carry the hot plate to the service area to point out again it was the wrong meal – it was a meat dish and I had ordered vegetarian. He then threw what can only be described as a ‘hissy fit’, aggressively grabbing the plate and flinging it through the serving hatch on to a counter in the kitchen with such force that much of it spilt. He literally snarled at me something about vegetarians and Englishmen and, while my wife and son ate their meals, we were treated to aggressive stares from him, an upsetting situation. No attempt to correct the order or alternative was offered. The food we did receive was over salty and heavily sauced. The hotel itself is OK although the décor was very old fashioned and in need of refurbishment, and the lack of parking is a problem.

I estimate I have stayed at about 1,000 hotels in my life and this one may have been the worst. The staff is awful,

We had 2 bedrooms connecting for a family of 4, it was very clean.

The rooms need updating probable very nice in the 80's

The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

After driving several hours to arrive at the hotel in the evening, all I wanted was a good, relaxing meal with my family. The lovely reception staff suggested we could eat in the restaurant or bistro within the hotel, but on entering we were barked at by a female member of staff in the restaurant, until the receptionist came through and told her that she's said we could eat there. I told my family I wasn't prepared to eat somewhere I'd been treated like an intruder, and we had an excellent meal at the Rose am Dom in the middle of Aachen. I also thought the hotel was a little shabby and dated for the price.

Hotel used to be a modest family pension but is trying to be a business hotel, ending up being neither ... We visited there a few years before, and had a much better experience then ...

Unprofessional and inflexible staff. At check-out we were charged extra without any prior notice. This was due to a booking misunderstanding - 1 instead of 2-person room - even though online price was exactly the same! It would only have been polite and correct to tell us before check- out. Staff's reaction was very unfortunate. Hotel used to be a modest family pension but is trying to be a business hotel, ending up being neither ... Breakfast is 13,50 euro pp. Moderate restaurant. Bicycles could not be stored inside but had to be put in the outside car park.

Stay was to short.Maybe smoking allowed in the restaurant. Not a real 'cafe' found for drinks only.

de eenvoudige manier waarop je kon inchecken .het ons gratis aangeboden midgetgolf vanwege het weer door mevr theunissen makkelijk te vinden en weinig rompslomp zoals in andere hotels een puntje: er wordt niet gearchiveerd wie er slapen s'nachts daar en dit zou volgen mij wel zinvol zijn bij bijvoorbeeld calamiteiten en niet alleen naar de verhuurde kamers kijken, want die kunnen ook leeg zijn. verder voor herhaling vatbaar

douchkoppen in beide kamers waren kapot, dat was jammergenoeg erg vervelendkamer 42 en 48

Ik verbleef meermaals in dit hotel tussen 80 en 2000. Het weerzien was echter ontluisterend. Uitgeleefd hotel zonder enige "schwung" bij het personeel. Het zwembad was troebel en groen, de sauna werkte niet op 5 jan 11. Het vroeger zo geroemde ontbijt is herleid tot een hoopje lage kwaliteit (vb aan randen uitgedroogde kaas : dwz het wordt gewoon op het serveerbord zonder afdekking terug in de koelkast gezet tot de volgende beurt...enz enz). Het bezoek aan het vroeger goede restaurant hebben we gestaakt na 15 Min. De overjaarse sloffende ober en de menukaart (van het slechtere wegrestaurant) gaven de doorslag. Wat een teloorgang... Bij ons vertrek stonde twee dames aan de receptie die geen feedback nodig hadden, ze wisten wel beter....
