Hotel Almenrausch und Edelweiss    

This was a very nice hotel with a spacious, clean, quiet room. We had a beautiful view of the mountains on the two balconies in our room. An excellent hot and cold breakfast with many options was included in the rate. The host family was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. The hotel is decorated with a nice collection of antiques and art. All in all it was a very pleasant stay and good value for the money.

The hotel is a bit difficult to find without a map and directions. We arrived too late for the Tourist Information assistance. Be sure to map it out ahead of time to make it easy to find.

The room/studio was full of beautiful decorations. In fact the whole hotel is like a museum. And a cup of "home made" Nespresso was just a pleasure on its own.

The Internet connection was of a very low bandwidth.

Staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was great and plentiful, just what you need before a day of skiing. Room was a good size with a classic look but modern bathroom. Free parking and wifi. About a 10- 15min walk to the garmisch classic ski lift, or you can catch the bus. Near many restaurants/bars and atm.

Mattresses weren't the best, but that is only a minor complaint.

Great central location with easy parking right outside. Staff friendly and helpful with warm, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was good, with attentive service.

Our room was at the top of three flights of stairs...no lift so it was quite challenging! Noisy neighbours occasionally disturbed us.

Single room is really small

The location was perfect. Next to city center but in quiet location. Close to all ski lifts. The breakfast was good and the free parking was convenient. Rooms were comfortable and most of the staff was very friendly. Free Wi-Fi in rooms and prices for mini-bar were better than nearby stores.

No elevator which was not a problem for us but something to take into consideration.

I liked everything about my stay

Great location - right in the middle of town. Walking distance to many restaurants. Although I didn't use it, a bus runs very close right to the Hausberg lift

The 3rd and 4th beds in our "quad" were converted from sofas and not as comfortable as the regular beds -- OK for kids but I think adults would not have been happy.

Worked well for me. - Well located in old centre of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. - Plenty of restaurants etc near by. - 2 block walk to ski bus. - 10min walk from station. - Very friendly & helpful staff (family). Younger generation have excellent English. - Smart reception - Traditional decor - Room comfortable and good shower. - ski room with boot warmers (if your quick) - basic cubicle style sauna (I didn't use).

- Carpets in rooms and upstairs landings quite old. - sound insulation between rooms is poor.

The wonderful hospitality of the owners, the very nice breakfast - with very good music. Suggestion : it would be nice to have a water cooker and tea / coffee in the room.

The room had an Austrian theme and was very comfortable. The host was very accommodating and friendly.

The rooms are dated (a bit like your great Aunt's house) - and that's fine . . . It is what you'd expect for a guesthouse in the area. However, the cleanliness is also like staying at a relative's place. In other words don't be surprised to find other people's hair, slow draining showers, etc.

The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. Parking was around the hotel site. The management was helpful and served a very nice breakfast. The town is lovely also.

Our rooms were very spacious, airy and quiet. Staff were helpful. Site is lovely, at lakeside. We watched windsurfers during breakfast.

Guest house is separate from the restaurant and unstaffed. This was not a problem. Parking was very convenient.

The family that runs the hotel is incredibly helpful and nice (and were patient with our limited German speaking skills). The room was small compared to U.S. standards, but very comfortable. Comfortable beds, and a very quiet room. We lucked out and were on the upper corner, so we had two balconies (both with great views of the surrounding mountains). The taxi to the hotel was just a few minutes from the train, and we chose the location due to it's proximity to the marienplatz and the Abrahms (we were visiting a friend who lives there). Breakfast in the morning is sit-down type with typical German fare (rolls, meats, cheeses), and if you aren't too late, scrambled eggs and bacon. No elevator, but it didn't bother us. Our shower took a couple minutes to warm up, but it was likely because we were on the 4th floor (and it's not a big issue).

It was very charming, the staff was warm, my view was spectacular, the location was great! Walking distance to shops! Very quaint! Very clean! I had a wonderful time!

We loved the fact that it is soo close to downtown. It was quiet and very family- friendly. The staff was very nice and courteous. The hotel is very clean. Our room was cleaned daily and was done almost as soon as we left our room. The inclusive breakfast was wonderful!! We were overall very satisfied with our stay. We didn't have problems finding parking either.

We really appreciated a great breakfast every morning, clean room with large bathroom, entry and, even with 4 adults in the room we had plenty of room. The room had 1 queen for us and for our 2 adult children a single bed each. We enjoyed walking to great shopping areas and the food everywhere we ate around the hotel just got better and better as we walked around. The owners of the hotel couldn't be more helpful and kind. It was so great to hear, after asking for more toilet paper, when I said it was OK, and he said "No, it is not OK"!

There was NOTHING not to like!
