Alpen Hotel München  

The hotel is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff were most obliging and helpful. The Alpen is very close to the old town centre of Munich and very convenient to the train station as well. It is walking distance from most of the tourist sites. The breakfasts are excellent and we ate twice in the restaurant for dinner too as the food and service was excellent. We would stay here again as value for money the hotel was very good.

The close surrounding area was a bit colourful to say the least! The red light area is just around the corner.!

The staff is so accomodating- especially the front desk personnel.

Friendly staff, good location very close to city center, very good food for breakfast and good enough menu for dinner, discounts in the neighbouring parking.

We have stayed at the Alpen Hotel 2 times. It is a nice hotel, the rooms are large and comfortable. We choose this hotel because of a parking garage located within a block of the hotel (1st stay we had a rent a car) and the 2nd stay we traveled by train and the Alpen is very near the train station.

The staff at the reception was friendly, although not always extremely competent (phone rates could not be indicated etc).

I was in the older not yet renoved part of the hotel; I have the impression that other part might have been nicely renoved. The non- descript furniture of my room corresponds certainly to a 3 star hotel, but clearly not to the recently acquired 4th star. And I was in a premium room, so the standard room might even be less attractive In addition, not a very customer friendly attitude overall (I had to pay for 2 breakfasts, although I was alone) There are higher standard hotels at basically the same price in the area.

Alpen Hotel was very close to the central train station. This makes it a very good hotel for train travelers. The breakfast was very good.

The location of the hotel is very busy and diverse.

great location to public transportation and sights to see, plus restaurants

The street was very noisy, lots of trucks and people talking on the street. need to make sure people at casino don't hang out near hotel

Very much qualified personnel and the Chief manager. Excellent round-the- clock service. Appetizing and plentiful breakfast.

It is noisy at night. It is impossible to open a window. It is necessary to add tv channels - Russian, Polish, music modern, music classical, music Bavarian

We stayed at the Alpen during Octoberfest. The hotel was convenient to everything in the area. All within walking distance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. It is a very quaint hotel with excellent staff and perfect location.

We were in a room near the elevator in which you hear everyone's comings and goings all evening.

Bathroom slightly small. Lack of air conditioning may be uncomfortable in summer months.

Our room was ready even though we arrived ahead of checking in time. The breakfast were great.

No airconditioning when very hot. They did give us a free standing fan though. We do know that aircon is not a common feature in most German hotels.

The staff were very friendly and as the hotel does not have restaurant were able to confidently give restaurant recommendations.

Rather expensive compared to other hotels we stayed at in Germany, given the facilities.
