눉--If you can't walk up a flight of stairs, or if you pack the kitchen sink in your heavy suitcase, find a hotel with an elevator. Good luck with that at this price.
--Shared balcony: negative only if those sharing are weird, or smokers (or weird smokers). Can also be a plus if they are interesting folks...automatic new friendships.
눇Great location, nice staff, clean rooms, no weird smells, good breakfast with fresh pancakes (Russian-style bliny actually), eggs made to order. A real sense of history with the painted furniture and knick knacks documenting the passage of this guest house's time and the family that has run it for so long. The former owner's photo greets you from deer-antler adorned walls. He is long gone, but his widow and children are still there.
--No lift: so you get your training for the mountain hikes that you are going on. That's why you're here, right?
--No Wifi? Maybe--I didn't check. That wasn't my goal. This is a plus. Gets your head out of your Smartphone, and gets you focusing on people and environment.
--Learn Chess Bavarian style--from the look of things, the local chess club meets here. On a rainy wifi-less day, that is one idea.
--Little English spoken (so they say) so you can brush up on your German with the sweet Bavarian owner.
