This guesthouse is a historic building dating back to the 1936 Winter Olympics. The Olympiahaus is located directly next to the ski jumps in the Bavarian winter resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Friendly staff were accommodating and cheerful. The room was simple, but cozy and comfortably decorated. The included breakfast was the perfect way to start a day of shopping and hiking. The restaurant was superb and reasonably priced. Will definitely plan our next stay in Garmisch at Hotel Alpengruss.
Brand new sheets and good quality towels. We believe an elderly family member who was very helpful and polite even though could not speak a word of English. She made the effort.
The only time we ever saw anyone was at breakfast, believing we were the only guests in fact there were over 10 rooms let. Did not appreciate long life milk from cartons, meat and other produce displayed not chilled. Breakfast not a pleasant experience. Put off eating there in the evening by the barman's unpleasant personal habits, coughing and sneezing. Rooms were very dated and did not feel particularly clean. Thank goodness we only had two nights.
Great location for walking and close to the station.
Hotel was shabby and worn out. Carpet dirty throughout.Room was clean, but we couldn't get wifi and there was no soap provided. Breakfast was average. Nothing within walking distance except train station. Will not stay here again
The spaciousness and staff
Staff or The Owner can't speak English and Breakfast isn't so good compare with anothe hotel.
Quite good value for money
Appreciated that I was a non German speaker in Germany, and got by just about with phrase book - but would have been a bonus if staff had spoken some English.
The staff were very friendly and allowed us to keep one room to change after the final day's skiing.
It was a bit of a hike to the ski bus stop and there wasn't much in th way of entertainment in Partenkirchen
