Great value, great breakfast, rooms with balcony and view and a great location. You will need directions though. Follow Maria Gern and Krankenhaus (hospital) signs which involves a sharp right turn using the turning circle. Up the hill, round the corner past the Hospital and its the first road on your left. Shame there is no bar. It's a 20 - 30 minute walk into town, but the views are worth it. |

The owners were very gracious. The breakfast was excellent. It was a wonderful experience staying at the AlpenHotel. I highly recommend staying there. |

We had an apartment room which was lovely with a little kitchen with all the dishes etc needed, but no stove or microwave. The facilities were updated and modern. There was a lovely little balcony and there were spa facilities however they were not available when we were there. Without a GPS it would be very difficult to find. The walk to the town is very difficult and steep. Breakfast was not included in our room and we could not add it, not sure why however we found a nice breakfast in town. |

Nice location, view, staff, room, breakfast, facilities & family friendly - cannot complain at all, simply would recommend and stay again for sure Perhaps paying only cash upon arrival together with checking in till 6pm only is not common for a 'hotel', however you can live with that as you are informed in advance |

Great place for a family traveling w/ a car. We stayed in one of the apartments -- parents in bedroom, two small kids in living room on a comfy pullout couch. By car it's 3 minutes into the center of Berchtesgaden, however, walking would be a pain. Staff was very friendly. Parking was great. Our kids got great use of the pool. Check-in times are restrictive -- no later than 6pm. Therefore, don't book if you want to arrive late. For us it worked out nicely. |
