This hotel is in the heart of Berlin, between Berlin Central Station and the Reichstag Parliament. The MEININGER features soundproof rooms with modern design and a flat-screen TV.
Score from 3575 reviews Good
This family-run hotel is in the Schöneberg district of Berlin, a 10-minute walk from the world-famous KaDeWe Department Store. The Hotel Ambiente has classically furnished rooms, some with free Wi-Fi....

Location is perfect for Postdamer platz, check point Charlie etc. The cheapest central i could find I'd you're not pretentious and you're on a budget is Ok
Main street do very loud, need ear plugs Next to a strip club Very tiny rooms and dated No internet in rooms Not great value given the money it costs but still beats paying over 60eur elsewhere!
To much noise from club...
Nice location. Good breakfast.
Placed in centre of Berlin. Clean room. Nice co-operation of receptionist. Healthy n heavy breakfast. Really cheap in Berlin.
No wi-fi in room, always have to come downstairs to connect. Not satisfactory outside view. Limited plug point for chraging purpose.
Breakfast good Nice staff
oldfashioned room dirty carpet no cups in the bathroom room was in the noisy street no air conditioning
No wifi in room
The only positive is that the place is 15 min walk from the Potsdamer Platz.
The hotel is located in a very noisy street and the windows are old, so it's hard to sleep at night. There is a strip club next door and the area doesn't feel safe. The building is very old and poor and needs a proper renovation. The rooms were worn-out and shabby, with dirty carpets and stained walls. The rooms and corridors were smelly. No wifi available in the rooms. The breakfast was very basic, same eggs and sausages every morning. The reception staff spoke Russian and didn't care at all about the hotel guests. On top of that they were rude. The cleaning lady seemed very frustrated and angry. She was extremely rude and was shouting at people at the breakfast in Russian language. The rooms were too expensive for such low/no quality. I would never go back there again. Stay away from that place.
Price was very reasonable for Berlin. It is easy to get there from Tegel - I've just walked from main railroad station of Berlin. It is easy to reach any place in the center on foot. There is a shop working until 22-00 nearby (5 minutes). Breakfast is good and included into price. Russian speaking personnel. There is parking - you can leave your car and go sightseen on foot.
Repairing was made there a long time ago. But is was OK for me. If you need just B&B - it is for you. If you like super comfortable staying in Berlin - choose another one.
Good location. Clean bedclothes, towels and bathroom.
Dirty carpets and walls, flying bugs in the bathroom, smelly corridors, no wifi option in the rooms, rooms are hot in the summer, opening the window let the whole noisy street inside, that you can hardly talk. So it is horrible, but if you don't want to spend more money on a hotel, at least the bathroom and the bed is clean...
Good location, reasonable price, parking facilities, good meal during the breakfast, flexible staff.
No internet in the rooms, old fashioned rooms, poor TV set, remote control need to be taken in reception.
About the safety
The location is easy to reach and near to quite a few interesting places.
Breakfast is very poor - coffee is not at all good (slightly coffeed water), scorns not fresh, sausage below standard, personnel not helpful. No glasses in the room, cups for cleaning teeth not washed/cleaned probably since several month. TV quality is poor!
We had stayed at the hotel before and liked the central location. This time we had booked tickets for a concert at the Philharmonie and the hotel is just 2 bus stops away. Breakfast was fine and it is good that you have a place to park your car even though the access is rather steep.
good location, good breakfast and new room
priece is expencive for this hotel
receptionist was good to me and after first slepless night in the room with windows to the main (noisy) street changed my room to the back yard , what actually didn`t help-(( ..... .
primary requirement to a hotel is possibility to sleep over night. Breakfast /proximity to sightseeings/wifi/etc are secondary things. This hotel can not offer you a good sleep at all. Windows are so poor that through all the night you can hear cars, busses, music from the bar downstairs like as the window is completely open . The street hotel located on is quite busy so it is never silent and never dark (curtains are also poor). they say they have just few room backyards, but in case you stay there for a weekend - this won`t help either , because of disco/strip bar is next door and even at another side of the building you`ll hear very noisy music till the morning. So our great impression of Berlin was completely crushed as we couldn`t get rest during th enight. The hotel as such is very old an dirty. Rooms are very uncomfortable, dirty , bathrooms are poorely organized. Breakfast was basic.
Reception open 24 hours
The neighbour is a strip club. The room was really molded. The carpet was completely worned out.
That the bus no 85 and 48 stops just outside the hotel
The common area, the lift, the corridors should be more clean and tidy. Not enough plugs in the bedroom to charge my mobile or put my hairdrye, I needed to switch off the bedside lamps in order to use the plug. No switch off of the main light from the bedside. The main personel breakfast staff not very polite and speak Russian. The morning receptionist was more helpful but not the others.
So many of Berlin's major attractions are just a short walk away. We travelled for a concert at the Philarmonie, again just a short walk. The room was basic but clean and we slept well. Super shower! My teenage son thought the breakfast was amazing. The staff on the front desk were lovely to us. Before arriving I worried a little about some bad reviews I had seen but it was all just fine. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again as you just cannot beat the value for money.
very bad. I don't like.
Clean bedroom, good choice at breakfast. A Ubahn station is close and there is a bus stop opposite to get into the heart of the city.
The public areas are 'tired' and the photo does not show the strip club located next door on the right facing the hotel. Very small bathroom with a very loose shower head which sprayed you in the face if you were not careful.
The hotel locates near the center of the city, 10 minutes to Potsdamer Platz. The staff can speak English, German and Russian. Our room was small but warm and comfortable. Breakfasts were VERY good!
Nothing, all was OK.
People if you want to stay in Berlin this Hotel is the last place in all Berlin! I was so disappointed. Staff was terrible, roughness, and the boss of this Hotel not polite. It was most unsuccessful day in my life. You can find so many good hotels for this price!
Great breakfast Nice clean room Quick check in/out Good selection of tourist materials Very good position Nice bathroom Low price with good service
This "hotel" is a joke. I was waiting 30 mins until someone came to reception desk when I arrived. The staff is Russian speaking, there is a strip/night club next to the hotel, the place doesn´t seem very safe... The room itself was small and poorly equiped and the bathroom was something I never saw before, in fact it´s in the room directly. I will never stay in this hotel again and cannot recommend it to anyone.
