The hotel was fine, breakfast could be better - more to choose from, but the localisation is great, really close do Messe, only reason to come there again.
Humble breakfast, not comfortable enough, wi-fi breaks from time to time.
The hotel is well located near the metro station and bus stops in downtown Cologne. The Dom is not far, just in the other side of the river. The bedroom was clean and the bed were comfortable.
The sound isolation is not very good and we have walked up in the middle of the night because of the noise in the other room. People talking in the surrounding rooms are clearly listened. Parking is also a problem. There is a recommended garage near by, but it is expensive and you can park on the streets only for a short time. It would be great if the hotel could manage some sort of partnership with so e parking lot to reduce the fee for guests.
Staff and breakfast
Rooms toooooo small, not so clean, need renovation.
The hotel is very close to a subway station and Köln Messe-Deutz train station. The rooms are small and the queen size bed was placed against the wall on one side. The rooms were clean and tidy. There was WiFi but it didn't always work well. The tv was modern (hdmi) and worked well.
The ground floor of the part of the hotel were we stayed smelled a bit stale. No private bathroom.
Deutz is a nice area to get around Cologne. within 5 minutes of the Rhein and tube stops, lots of local amenities. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was cheap if added separately, and a good selection available. Good WiFi connection. A good nights sleep.
The location of the hotel was very nice - it takes 5 minutes by walk from train station. The price was also very good for short trips
The wifi doesn't work good so bad Staff at the hotel is very bad and uncooperative
£110 for 3 nights - unbeatable value for a decent hotel in a part of Cologne frequented by locals but still only a 15 minute walk to everywhere! The free fresh fruit, cookies and sweets at reception and complimentary mineral water in the room were nice touches.
Wasn't overly impressed by early wake up by housekeeping, but putting out the do not disturb sign the night before helped! The reception isn't manned 24hours which prevented my midnight raid of the boiled sweets. All in all not a bad place, I'd recommend for the price and for Beata the landlady of the pub on the corner!!
The location - close to city centre. Free wifi. Free fruit, cookies and water. Nice staff Very good breakfast although not included (7,5 €) Nice common area
The bed! Our double bed sloped inwards which meant we had to cling to the edges. The bed was also lodged into a corner so it was only possible to exit on one side. Bathroom was kinda dark and old (but clean). Staircase was narrow (no elevator) Stained, old carpet in the room.
Near the center breakfast( although it was in a different building) Comfortable beds
Card was blocked almost a week
3 out of 5 staff members encountered were incredibly friendly and helpful; particularly the cleaner! Breakfast was great, with a large variety to choose from, even for vegetarians. Great location and value for money. Very clean and well-kept.
Lack of air conditioning in rooms meant they were rather hot and stuffy. Problems during checkout- one staff member was unaware of hotel policies which made things difficult/ delayed our journey. I would advise guests to take a printed copy of their booking confirmation in Euros as I was asked to pay $11 more than my booking price 'due to city tax' which was included! This was resolved but left us feeling unhappy with our stay.
nice location and living facilities，and sweet welcome biscuits.
not far for sight seeing in town
Very cheap alternative for a private room.
Window didn't go wide because of the bed
very nice hotel, good location, only 15 minites to the old town and tourists places. clean and comfortable bed.
Near public transport and laundary service.
Not having a lift and having to carry your suit case up the stairs. The reception leaves at 11:00pm and after that time if there are any issues there isnt anyone to help you. The tv was very small and not able to see it well. The breakfast was not at the hotel you had to walk to another hotel and eat it there.
Breakfast: you have to leave the hotel and go to another place, just few minutes walking.. But I prefer to go to one of the many bars are around there and cheaper.
Wifi is good
location, a bit far from the train station, but acceptable
We stayed at Hotel “Alt Deutz” for 3 nights. The location is pretty convenient and the neighbourhood is safe and quiet. There are some supermarkets and nice cafes nearby. Because the area is not so popular among the tourists, there is a local, original, pleasant and unspoiled atmosphere. It is a 30 minute walk to the “Altstadt”(historical city centre) and a minute walk to the nearest S-Bahn station. We stayed in room no. 14. It was rather small and simple, but clean and cozy. The private bathroom was also fittingly equipped. All in all: decent. Also, the free Wi-Fi was fast, easy to connect and the signal was great. However an important disadvantage about this room is its lack of soundproofing. Sometimes you can easily hear other people closing the bathroom door in the adjacent rooms or turning on the shower. The breakfast buffet was unexpectedly good. It was enjoyable, lavish, nourishing and worth the price. The only downside was the fact the buffet is actually located in the annexe building(the “Deutzer Eck” Hotel) situated 50 m(2-3 min) away from the main building. The hotel staff was welcoming, amiable and helpful. We arrived there three hours earlier, but the lady at the reception permitted us to check in anyway, which was very satisfying. She gave us a map and some useful tips about the public transportation. In conclusion, it was an adequate stay. The quality-price ratio is good. If you are on a low budget, then Hotel “Alt Deutz” represents a fair accommodation.
can't say we found something no to like...
English at the front desk was very good and clear to understand. The location was great, only a short walk away from the main city.
The wifi signal was very weak so I could only access the wifi when sitting in the reception area.
Excellent breakfast. Complimentary fresh fruit and water each day was appreciated in a good neighbourhood friendly efficient staff
I was not in the hotel I've booked. The room is very poor, no bathroom, no toilets (shared). Very noisy between the rooms, especially from upstairs.
Friendly staff Good location, near the station and food options (you should try the Mexican restaurant nearby).
Staff had no idea whether or not breakfast was included. We had the booking website tell us two different things. The hotel had their computer say "yes", but their hard-copy say "no". They ended up charging us for breakfast in the end. Bed was not a king bed, but two double beds pushed together. This would have been less of a problem, but for the large bedframe in the middle.
Room was amazing at a great rate.
