Nice clean family run hotel in a convenient location among picturesque historical buildings with very obliging German/English speaking staff. Public transport and restaurants within 50 metres. Tea/coffee making facilities in room. More than enough selection of food for breakfast (but no bacon or sausages for the Union Jack brigade). Quiet location just off the main road at the 'Stadthalle' bus stop. Overall, very enjoyable! No english TV stations but that didn't bother us - we were there to see Lubeck, not sit watching TV. Don't forget to use the hotel toilets before going out - It will cost you 50 cents elsewhere in the town. Parking costs 5 euros per night (though we didn't have a car with us) in an off site care park (about 100 metres away) but I think you could park free in the street if you can find a space. |

Breakfast better than many 4 star hotels.Friendly and helpful staff.Good location.Everything worked but remember it is a 2 star. As most people have said the breakfast area is cramped espcially when it is busy.Be patient. |

Hotel zur alten Stadtmauer is a small "bed-and-breakfast" style hotel. The rooms are small and basic but clean, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast buffet is fresh and varied. The hotel is in the city centre and close to main-route bus stops. |

Excellently situated in nice area of Lübeck, and friendly staff. Slightly chaotic at breakfast, and rather annoying that some things were not replenished at all, though the hotel wasn't fully booked and we had an early breakfast. Also there was some issues with our booking confirmation that was sorted out eventually though. |

The hotel was located in the Old district and as such had a wonderful charm. Our room was quiet and comfortable. There were water problems during our stay causing the low rating in services. |

Very good location,but quiet. Rooms with simple furniture,but very clean,brigh and nice. Very nice family ambiance .Excellent breakfast .You really have impression they care about you and do everything to improve their services.Perfectly run family business.The opinions about the hotel are run. There is no lift,so the people with walking problems should let them know and ask the room on the first floor. |

Lovely place to stay, with very friendly staff, gorgeous room-with-a-view, excellent situation in one of the prettiest parts of town, and possibly the best breakfast I've encountered on any of my 1001 travels. Everything to recommend this place, and I hope we will be returning. |

An excellent place to stay, easily accessible to all areas of interest, terrific breakfast, very helpful staff. Room has tea making facilities with nice selection of hot chocolate, teabags etc. There were two cute little chocolates on the bed which always makes a sweet welcome! The hiked up prices on the hotels in this area during the Xmas market time makes going there for a holiday too pricey, but one day in Luebek does not do it justice. The bottle of sparkling water is not complimentary, it is listed in German so non-German speaking guests will not understand. It costs 2€ so please note, tapwater is safe to drink. |

Vi var der kun 1 nat, men det opfyldte fint vores forventninger. Især morgenmaden var helt i top og der var kælet for detailjerne. Der var alt hvad hjertet kunne begærde og vi vores æg blev kogt individuelt efter vores ønsker...Det er da service! Det var tydeligt at på dette hotel, med de begrænsninger en gammel bygning har, ønskede ejer og personale at vi havde et rigtig god ophold hos dem og at vi følte os meget velkomne....Og det lykkedes til fulde. |

Der var rigeligt plads på værelserne. Morgenmaden var fortrindelig, det var lækkert med nylavet æg(spejlæg, røræg og blødkogte æg. Der var en meget venlig betjening på hotellet. Det er ikke nødvenligt at skifte håndklæder hver anden dag. Jeg ville godt have haft noget hårchampo på badeværelset. |
