Nice place near downtown and next door to a brewery. Best scrambled eggs at breakfast I can remember, and I've eaten a lot of hotel breakfast buffet eggs in my travels. Very friendly staff, WiFi worked great. A good deal.

For a moderately priced hotel, it was amazingly comfortable and extremely well designed - all of the facilities were designed with the traveler in mind. We felt that it was one of the most "practical" and "efficient" hotels we have used. The breakfast and service were also good. We highly recommend it. It was just a bit difficult to find - but that actually is because Bamberg itself is a bit difficult for drivers.

Location - near enough to the city center without being in it. Great breakfast. Nice staff. Room didn't seem as nice as previous stays - smaller and less sparkly clean (but clean nevertheless).

The hotel had ample parking and was an easy 15 minute walk into town. The room was large with a balcony and immaculate. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful and spoke fluent English.

Very nice staff with good English. Spacious room with beautiful view over Altenburg castle. Very nice breakfast. Clean and modern bathroom. Not so close to the historical part of city.

Tourist visit to Bamburg, Coburg and other nearby tourist attractions. Hotel staff very helpful. Non-refundable aspect to booking. Sloped roof in room. No lift to top floor.

The hotel is outside the main centre of Bamberg, so it has the advantage of on-site parking and it's only a 10 minute walk from the old town. Breakfast was very good, the room was comfortable, with a good view, and spotlessly clean. Our room was on the top floor, so there was reduced headroom under the eaves and the lift did not go to our floor (neither of these were big issues for us).

Bamberg in summer is overcrowded with tourists and staying in the town is too expensive for me. Altenburgblick is about 10-min to the city center by foot and a lot cheaper. The hotel itself is not special but it is clean and well maintained. Certainly would recommend it to anybody who plans to stay in/near town. However, if you have a car, perhaps it would be just as well to stay in a smaller town for cheaper price.

The staff was very helpful in accomadating my requests. Breakfast buffet was delicious and fresh made jams were outstanding. I loved being near the gasthaus/brewery. Not too close that it kept me awake at night. Beautiful view of castle from the balcony. It's not that I didn't like it but I didn't know they had bicylces for use until my last day there.

We borrowed bicycle from hotel for free. Wi-fi is great. Just get account from reception desk, one per device. The breakfast is also very nice.

if u stay in the attic u can get a great view of the city. i really liked the small comfy room. it was just me and my wife so it was perfect. the front desk didnt speak any english, but thats not really a down side because were in his country not ours. he dosnt have to.

I can highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Bamberg. The hotel is spotless, the staff are friendly and helpful. It is close enough to the centre for a walk around the famous breweries to sample the beers and to enjoy the architecture. Plus free parking and free wifi.

It is a hotel which I could really recommend on every level. However, it is not in the centre but there are good bus connections. One that is easy to walk to but runs only every 40 minutes, on Saturday less and not at all on Sundays. However, there is another bus that goes every 10 minutes but it means a climb up a fairly steep hill which is behind the hotel. In fact, all of Bamberg which is really really pretty is hilly. It is not difficult to walk around but people should know in advance that the hotel is on a hill.
