It was a lovely relaxed and a comfortable stay at this hotel. It was away from the noisy streets of the city with beautiful surroundings, meadows to walk, woods to stroll and have a perfect stress free break. The hospitality was great, the staff took care of every smallest thing possible. The restaurant was wonderful with delicious european food to relish... I would love to stay at this place again. It was a little bit far from the city, but there is convenient bus service right at the doorstep.

The stay at Alter Kohlhof was great. I'm an American here in Germany and was looking for a place to get into nature in beautiful Heidelberg. The staff spoke english well, and were very friendly ever day I was there. The food was some of the best i've had in Germany, though a little high priced, well worth it. I highly recommend the Bread Dumpling which is one of their specialties. They also have their own wines which were wonderful and well priced to take some bottles home. A great place to get away from the busy life. 20 minute drive to the city center or Patrick Henry Village. GPS took me everywhere with no problems. They also accept the VAT Form, making the stay the most affordable in the entire village. Being a guesthouse, the walls are quite thin and there was a lot of noise throughout the day in the room, but at night was quiet. The small room television had around 13 channels, none of them English. Internet was free, but slow and only available in the restaurant. No lounge or bar to hang out in, and the restaurant closes at 10:30PM. None of which I minded, just thought those considering this wonderful place should know.
