The location in particular especially for walking in surrounding area and into Bad Essen (a delightful town).
Took a little while to heat up our room since the weather was very cold and heating system lacked strength (log burners in main room very efficient).
Remote but nice location in the forest
Cold room at arrival. Do not forget to adjust regulator immediately. Cold room on breakfast. Nothing terrible but dress sweater at the end of the November.
The hotel is, rather sadly, really "faded elegance"-and it really could be so good. The location is beautiful, tranquil and very convenient for both short and long terms stays.Excellent breakfast in pleasant dining room.
Don't go on a Tuesday, which is a "proprietor and staff day- off" (both hotel and restaurant)- and it really is that. Whilst this was known when we booked, and were warned accordingly, and could let ourselves in with keys left out, arriving at a totally deserted "Marie Celeste hotel" does come as something of a surprise, although the proprietor did in fact arrive later in response to a phone call. Perhaps it would be better not to take bookings on that day. Detracted from what could have a pleasant overnight stop.
A traditional establishment in a beautiful woodland location in easy walking distance of the pretty town of Bad Essen. Enjoyed a good evening meal in the restaurant and a generous breakfast. All in all good value for money.
A bit tired but in a not unpleasant faded glory way. Pretty basic but it doesn't pretend to be what it's not.
You get the flavor of old Germany. The breakfasts were great. The facilities were old but comfortable.
You get what you pay for. The hotel worth its' money. Wonderful interior. Perfect forest surrounding. And the hotel is really cute!
It was a bit cold when I stayed there. Wi-fi is limited by range.
The boss tried to rip off me. Do not accept visa or other crédit card. Poor breakfeast for 8 euro. No wifi in rooms located in a nowhere. Of the 17 hôtel I had in Germany it was the worst.
tired room facilities
