The hotel was in a good location. Barbara was welcoming, spoke English and made some wonderful suggestions for places to see and eat.

The River Cruise schedule was not correct and we had to take a school bus back to the closest town to Bacharach. It was an adventure.

In our four day trip in Germany this was our absolute favorite spot. Bacharach is a becautiful quant spot with a great view of the Rhine. You are walking distance of the entire town and it is an amazing place. I couldn't stop taking pictures. Food here was also wonderful. Hotel was in a great location, staff was friendly, and spoke English. We will definately stay here again.

We loved the location along the Rhine and in Bacharach - very central in Bacharach and for seeing many beautiful sites and castles nearby. The rooms were very clean and well put together - we had our 1 year old with us and could easily fit her crib in our room and not feel scrunched. Breakfast was fantastic and all the staff very friendly and extremely helpful.

It is situated in a fantastic little village on the Rhine. The people were very helpful and welcoming.

Beautiful old hotel with great dining room. Perfect location to explore the Rhine and Mosel area. The breakfast spread is wonderful and so was the dinner we had there. The dining room where both are served is very beautiful. Highly recommended.

The hotel in good location and easy to find. Dinner was excellent.

However, the hallway to the rooms so small and go pass the kitchen where the smell of food can be very strong, and the kitchen is not clean.

It was well located on the main street of Bacharach and had an excellent restaurant. We had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the main street which was nice to have a glass of wine after a day of hiking.

Restaurant the best in this tourist village. Many locals eat here regularly. Room was comfortable.

Parking was impossible. The public lots were full and cars were parked along the road out of town. I insisted that if no parking, I could not stay and was given the Chef's space for one night. Be advised that parking at best is two blocks from the hotel. Our room on the second floor was above the kitchen with all the noise from 7:00 till 10-00 pm. Anyone else around us could be heard through the walls and floor.

The young man who checked us in was very computer knowledgeable and helped me with a problem I was having. The towels were big and fluffy, far nicer than some we had at name brand hotels we stayed at on this trip. Bacharach is a delightful little town and this hotel is right in the middle of it so very easy to get around. Private parking was provided about a block away.

The room was typically small, but had more furniture than really fit the room. It made it difficult to put all the luggage and packages we had accumulated by this time of our trip.

Service was excellent. Staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to make you happy. Food in restaurant was delicious!!

We had originally wanted to stay in a castle along the Rhine but couldn't find any available rooms during our trip dates. In the end, I think things worked out better for us at Altkolnischer Hof! Our room was wonderful and the hotel had the charm and history we were looking for, but a much better location than any of the castles could have had, not to mention a better price. We were within walking distance to everything and the family owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel was definitely one of the best in town. And we had free parking, right down the street.

Location was great , easy to find and when we got our car the parking was very convenient. Beautiful German hotel. Food was outstanding Only possible negative was that the dinnngroom gave off a rather stiff atmosphere. Maybe that was more about being American in a real german restaurant than the hotels fault.

You could not find a better location in the heart of the small village. The staff was friendly and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Right in the center of Bacharach, charming historic Rhein River town. The hosts at the hotel go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had in our three week swing through Germany & France.

One of our rooms was all the way up on the top floor and was somewhat cramped. Other than that - all was great!

This is an amazing place. The town is exactly what you expect in an old German village. We enjoyed a comfortable room and a good meal in the morning. Highly recommend a stay in this village, rather than one of the larger towns along the Rhine. Easy walk to and from the boat landings.

Very wonderful, old half-timber house on a charming street corner in the middle of the village. Our third floor room must have been recently renovated, the place was spotless. Despite its central location in town it was also very quiet. The dining room is wonderful and breakfast was bountiful and always served on beautiful china. We also had a very good, traditional German dinner there one night.

Nothing! But if the weather was warm and windows need to be left open (no A/C) it could be noisy given its location. Elevator is very tiny but so what? Also, the staff does not speak much English, but again, so what?
