location location location with having very kindly staff crew.
A/C had problem and it was cold to sleep ,Heater with turning to high degree still did not work good as much as our desire. Bathroom fan did not work to ventilate also.
Great location, excellent service, nice place -very well renovated. A small and cosy hotel with a "Berlin touch".
Close to Mitte - fashionable shopping area. Spacious, silent room, good breakfast (omelette, eggs, meat, cheese, sweets and many other things and what most impotant: vegetables). Close to many nice restaurants. Nice hotel service performed mainly by Russian ladies
Small tv screen (but anyway bigger than what I saw in some hotels).
Location Cleanliness Comfort Design
Location, value for money, professional staff willing to help, clean bathroom, fair breakfast included in price
Bed comfort,bed linen cleanliness
Super clean throughout. Efficient, helpful staff. Hotel was generally very quiet even with builders in the street behind. Good quality, reasonably priced breakfast.
As previous reviews the pillows could be a lot better! Slowest lift ever!
The hotel felt very constrained and boxed up; the decorations were either too clinical or gaudy; could not relax in a room with glasses all around (obviously to make it feel more roomy) and gaudy colours; morning breakfast room was in the narrow corridor for walking, and the staff were stern and didn't show friendly expressions at all.
Location Night shift were kind and helpsul
Welcome at the reception
Hotel 38 was one of the best budget hotels I have stayed at. Though my room was small, it was very colorful and cheerful. The price was great; hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel gives you a great spread for breakfast. It is also located in a nice neighborhood with restaurants and cafes. Very good hotel; I highly recommend it.
Nothing. I would go back to this hotel for my next visit to Berlin.
Location was good. Hotel is new and clean. Breakfast is also good.
The service! They were always moody!
Cleanliness throughout. Breakfast buffet. Reception staff. Fantastic shower. Location to attractions.
Pillows a little flat.
Contemporary feel Very clean and tidy Easy to access via public transport from Tegel airport Well-stocked breakfast buffet Good range of places to eat nearby
Initial reception by staff was unwelcoming. No smile or apparent desire to please. Was surprised by request to pay for my stay in cash. (I didn't)
Rooms are a bit small...and you can hear everything happening next door or in the hallway...but traveling alone I had no complaints. It was exceptionally clean with a very good staff...and morning breakfast was excellent.
Clean. Reasonable walking distance to main station and to the central tourist sites. Plenty of restaurants locally. Area felt safe. Good buffet breakfast with plenty of variety.
Rooms a bit small, but acceptable by big-city standards. The usual gripe from a Brit - there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, but this seems to be the norm when abroad.
The basic bedroom in this hotel is actually bathroom. Uncomfortable and cold!!! Pictures was not on site, so guests do not know what kind of basic room they book! The mattress was in the bathtub and the toilet was right next to the head!!! Just like luxury prison cell !!! On the reception when I asked if they have another basic room, I was told that the hotel does not have another basic room. They know that this is not exactly room, but I am for only one night, so...."
For 49€, you can't expect more. Breakfast buffet was so good. Room was clean and organized, in a simple deco.
A table in a fair size and a comfortable chair will definitely make the room better.
Nice, modern room Clean and modern bathroom, Great shower
Location Comfortable rooms Great breakfast
The location was excellent. The hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly. Loved the breakfast. Everything was great!
We liked the location of the hotel which is close to eveywhere to kreuzberg to alexanderplatz or friedrichstrasse. U ll never get lost, plus underground station is close to the hotel too. The street of the hotel is either safe and full with lots of various cuisine rest & cafes. Breakfast & the room service ( mean cleaning) was so punctual and qualified. Liked everythin of this hotel
Maybe the price. But considerin the opportunities and the comfort that the hotel provides, i think it is worth stayin here.
No water kattel but I asked reception and they gave me
Great location, extremely clean, friendly staff and a decent breakfast choice.
The location of the hotel was ideal. We travel a great deal in Europe and we have learned that location is more important than "fancy" amenities. It was near so many wonderful cafes/restaurants, walking distance to all of the amazing Berlin sights, the hotel was very clean, well maintained, very helpful and pleasant receptionists. You could catch any train or bus nearby - however we walked to every major site in Berlin by foot, that is the best way to see the city. The hotel room was suffice in size for what we needed, and we were comfortable sleeping. The breakfast served each morning was perfect and exactly what we needed to start our day. It tasted great, there were so many choices of food, and we loved the coffee. The staff who took care of breakfast was very very fast in cleanup, replenishing the food and coffee. It was a great experience and a great price and I would definitely stay here again.
Our view was looking into other apartments so to have our privacy we needed to keep drapes shut, however we liked the fresh air coming in so we opened drapes at night. It could get loud in the courtyard our room faced, waking us up in the middle of the night. Our room was equipped with a mini bar and large bathroom, however my sister and her husband's room didn't have a mini bar and very small bathroom to where they could barely open the door - so be sure to ask the receptionist if you have the larger room or smaller room - or request the large room w/mini bar when reserving. Also ask for extra pillows, they were very flat so we had to have extras. But that hardly affected our great time in Berlin and this hotel!
We stayed in Hotel 38 in 2012. We came back again in 2014 because we love the breakfast and the comfortable bed. It is close to all the eating places, yet away from the crowd and noise.
Location, great breakfast, cleanliness, quiet.
Staff not that well informed or helpful.
